A couple of group VIP questions

We're considering doing a 1 day, 2 park group VIP tour - end of August. As I understand it if we book the 9am tour we'd be done around 4pm giving us ~3 hours before park close to use the express pass. A couple of questions

- Is that correct, that we'd have about 3 hours left to use the express pass with the VIP
- If the tour doesn't include Hagrid's Motorbikes, Velocicoaster, and Rip Ride Rockit would we have time in the remaining 3 hours to complete those? I think RRR takes express pass but the other two don't? Happy to use individual rider lines.

Or should we just forget the VIP tour and do 2 days with express pass? We're staying off-site, nearer Disney.

If it were me, I'd forego VIP and get a night at one of the Deluxe resorts that comes with free Express Passes for both of your park days (check-in day and check-out day). Will be WAY cheaper and you'll have much more time in the parks going at your own pace instead of the tour groups pace.

We've already got 14 nights booked at an off-site resort. Are you saying it would be cheaper even not using the room?

Yes absolutely. Not sure what exact dates you will be there, but for example 1 night at Royal Pacific on Wed Aug 26th is $360. You'll be paying upwards of $100 (or more) per person, each day for Express Pass if bought separately.

Many people book a "throw-away" room for precisely this reason. You will have to check-in to get your room keys that act as your express pass (and you can do that as early as 6:00am on check-in day) and you're good to go.

But I would also consider staying the night in the room too. Just pack a small overnight bag and it will save you from having to drive back to the off-site resort that night, or you could also take a mid-day break for a few hours and enjoy the pool at the resort.

Thanks - looking at it, it works out about $80 more to get the room and do 2 days, than the 1 day 2-park VIP tour. Definitely worth considering.

We are doing the 2 park VIP tour in February and from everything I have seen it does include Velocicoaster and Hagrids. Did you see something that said it does not?

No but we’re doing the group tour and I understand they try and tailor it to the group. We have a six year old who wouldn’t be tall enough. So if we get paired with another group I’m worried they may skip these so want to make sure if they do we have enough time to do them at the end.
