A couple of easy questions

Hi all, I need help with a few more questions please.
The packing lists all suggest that you bring electric cords for extra plug space. I am wondering if the same thing can be accomplished with a power strip?
Are soap and shampoo provided in the rooms (like in hotels)? or should we bring our own?
Has anyone taken the Champagne Catamaran sail and snorkel in St John? How does this compare to the other catamaran options available? Has anyone booked this directly through the outfitter in stead of DCL? If so what was the price difference, and do you know how to contact them?
Also someone mentioned that the price for alcoholic beverages ranges from 4.50 to 6.25 plus 15% gratuity. What is the price range on the "virgin" variety of these drinks?
Finally (this is only for others who booked through AAA). Our book states that we get a free travel mug for soda refills. Anything special that we need for this, or will it automatically be accepted. Is this one mug per room, or one per person? The book makes it sound like we each get one, however our agent made it sound like it was only one per room.

Thanks for the help!

You'll get one AAA mug per person. I think there will be coupons in your document package to exchange for the soda program...someone will correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I didn't take an extension cord, and never needed one. There are a couple of outlets at the vanity, but if your hair dryer or other appliance has a large plug, you maybe would need a cord for that.

There is soap and shampoo in the rooms, and it will be replenished daily by your stateroom host.

We didn't need one. There are a few outlets by the desk and I just alternated what we charged each night. I didn't bring a hair dryer (used the painfully powerless one in the bathroom), so I don't really know what the bathroom outlet was like.

They provide a shampoo/conditioner in one that is replenished every day. It's not the greatest, but did the job.

I think the virgin drinks I had (mainly pina coladas) were 3.50 plus gratuity. I'll try to find my receipts to be sure.

I have my document package, but I have not found anything in thereabout the mugs. Good to know that you had no problems though. I hope I'm not missing somthing that I need!

We did bring a power strip and needed it. My hairdryer has the BIG plug, DH needed to plug in his laptop and we brought a recharger for batteries for the camera. Just put the power strip on the desk and it worked perfectly.

A couple of thoughts.
1- I really like having a power strip handy. I really didn't like pulling out the tv. This is especially true in an inside cabin standard. We had a few more options with the larger rooms.
2- We had tablemates who took the catamaran in St. Johns. They had a miserable time. A storm approached and they encountered rough seas that required them to run ashore as part of an emergency. Their daughter also got stung by a ray, but that could happen anywhere.
After complaining they got half of their money back and their taxi fare paid by DIsney.
We did the Trump Bay excursion on St. John instead and loved it even though we had rough seas on our ferry for the return.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Doug

Hi feiste

The coupon for the AAA mugs were located in the docs for the first person listed on our reservation last year. It is printed on the same color paper stock as the rest of the docs. If you can't find it, contact your TA for further info. Hope this helps.

We did this excursion December 2001 and it was the highlight of our trip. There were so many wonderful things about it --- 1 - We don't have children and there weren't any young children on this one. 2 - The leisurely sail out to St. John was SO relaxing! 3 - All of the food and beverage provide was so yummy and refreshing! 4 - The hosts of the catamaran were super nice! 5 - Honeymoon Bay was absolutely breathtaking. 6 - The snorkeling & swimming was beautiful.

...Seriously, I could go on! If we do the Eastern again, we will definitely rebook this excursion. We loved every minute of it!
