First off, we went to Disneyland on Sunday, December 6th, and we noticed that they are being a little more thorough at the security checkpoint tables. They were checking and opening EVERYTHING and they were asking people to open their coats, if they were wearing them. This was also the case when we went to DCA yesterday. Same "coat opening" procedure and very thorough searching of ANY bags.

And, on a lighter note, we stayed at the Grand Californian for a night just to check it out. It was just great but I did notice that they have the same one molecule thick toilet paper in the rooms as they do in the parks. Not going to play any favorites I guess.
If you're coming to the DLR and you're staying at the any of the DLR hotels, make sure to bring your own Charmin!

Thanks Roy. Good to know. Do you happen to know if they were opening Security before the scheduled park opening times to compensate?

the "opening of coats" at the security check tables at the turnstiles is actually normal ... they did it all last winter, and now that the weather is getting chilly again and guests are wearing coats/jackets more, they're back to having us open our coats/jackets.

The more thorough checking of bags is still sporadic ... sometimes it depends on the day, sometimes it just depends on the security CM you have.

I've never been asked to open my coat until last week and then I was asked to do it at both parks. They were definitiely being more thorough searching the bags. (Two different times at both parks.)

Oh not the shock the horror the security CM's are actually doing there job.

Just giving you a hard time Roy

We were there for 10 days in the fall and every time we entered one of the parks everyone was searched-camera bags and jackets included. My son was wearing a watch with some small studs in the band and they made him remove it and give it to me to put away (or they would confiscate it and he could pick it up on his way out).

We just got back from a week at Paradise Pier and they have the same horrible toilet paper there too!! Our bums hurt after a few days! Next time, we are bringing the Charmin!!!!

Have to agree with the toilet paper thing....just got back from the Grand Californian, and yes, you'd think they could spring for better paper!! ;)
As for security, I guess some CM's are doing a better job than others. We had our bags "glanced" at, didn't have to open our coats, or any other search. Maybe we didn't look "suspicious" enough!!! :smooth:
