Four of us stayed in two studios at OKW. As usual room was great, although only ONE of our requests were met (non-smoking). We were as far from HH as you could get. One of the requests was for an elevator for medical reasons (so we got first floor studio - it worked).
Attended the Disney Dining Experience breakfast in EPCOT on Sat. morning. Very nice affair and met up with a few FL DVC owners. They use their points for weekends and exchanges (even here in Chicago).
Dining Plan people - PLEASE, if you are not going to use an ADR, please cancel it. Since we go down 3-5 times a year, we rarely "plan" our trips. Most of our meals are spontaneous. That may be a thing of the past. Sunday night we tried to get reservations at ANY of the restaurants in the MK area (including inside the park and all the hotels (even Wilderness Lodge)) between 5-7:30. Nothing, absolutely nothing. We ended up at Columbia House which was good. Monday morning we tried to change a 4:50 reservation at Brown Derby from 6 to 7 people. No can do unless we wanted to eat at 8:30 or after 9. So the couple that was going to join us decided not to. Yet when we were sitting at BD, there were at least 10 empty tables including one large one. We asked our server if they are experiencing more no shows and he responded in the affirmative. He said you can try walking up but it's a chance because the restaurant will "hold" the reservation for at least a 1/2 hr. I have also read that Le Cellier will not take walk ups and in the same post that there were empty tables. What the answer is, I don't know. Maybe Disney needs to start instituting a penalty for no shows. One thing is for sure - I will be writing Disney.
Other than the restuarant ADR problem, it was a good trip. Can't wait until Sept. which will be for the annual pin event!
