Do you shut your computer off when you go to sleep?

I don't, I leave everything on including my AIM. Probably not so great for my computer, but its nice in the morning when I don't have to wait for it to turn on!

I NEVER turn mine off, it'll literally be on for months straight.

That's probably absolutely awful for my poor laptop. It gets turned off when I go from home to school obviously...thats about it.

Yes, normally I will turn it on in the morning and turn it off at night. :)

yeah i turn it off. my dad makes me, he doesn't like it when i leave it on. and when i go to school hes usually the last person to use it anyway so he shuts it off

I turn mine off too. I don't like to keep it on overnight.

If it's a desktop computer, it's better for the computer to stay on, rather than on/off repeatedly. However, that being said, lately, I turn off my computer to help keep electricity costs down.

I put mine to "sleep" to cut down on eletricity costs (and use the Energy Star modes), but I don't shut it down... I always need it for something!

I keep my laptop on all of the time too!
I'm also on AIM all of the time as well, except when I'm using my laptop in class. It's way too distracting.

I never "Shut Down my computer" any really the only time that I ever even put it to sleep is when I'm taking her somewhere, and sometimes I have to restart after installing some new software, or to boot into Linux. Anyone else here use a Mac? I'm using a 12" G4 Powerbook.

I turn it off at night. I hit the on button when I head to the bathroom in the morning as soon as I get up. By the time I get back to the room it's ready to go. It stays on all day though

I use my computer to play movies or music at night when I go to bed, but it does shut partly down after a while of no use. I don't usually turn off my computer unless I will be away for a while.

Mine is probably on for weeks at a time too :guilty: I just can't take the time for it to load up in the morning!
