I just re-read the thread concerning all of us who obessively watch the DVC video (and others) again and again, who park ourselves in front of the propaganda channels when on site, etc.

Here's something else sort of bizarre I do (confession being good for the soul.) I'm prone to carry our Membership Guidebook along with me in my briefcase, just about everywhere I go. In idle moments I'll play with the points charts, try to figure ideal usage, do all the "what-if" scenarios ... you get the idea. I'll read again and again rules on banking and borrowing, study the details about each resort, ad infinitum.

Sometimes I scare myself. Anyone else in this same pathetic boat?

I keep a DVC Members guide book at work (GM) and whenever I am on break or want to plan our next vacation, I pull it out and start figuring again..................:D

You guys are definitely scaring me now! I can't believe it! I actually had my guidebook 3 hole-punched and placed in a black binder so I could carry it around with me (I keep it in a black Magic Kingdom Club bag I got several years ago). I like flipping through the pictures and looking at the point charts, planning different trips everyday. I am so used to adding up the points in my head, using the point calculator on the member site seems like cheating to me! I guess as DH says, "somebody needs to get a life." :D I guess that somebody is me!

YOU ALL ARE THE BEST!! Thanks for the confessions, as now I can tell my DH that I am just one of many who "need a life" :D I keep my guidebook on my nightstand and love to fall asleep dreaming of possible vacations to come!

Oh my! I didn't realize that being a DVC member involved being susceptible to so many compulsions! I confess to watching the videos on all the 'Disney' stations especially (the DVC one) when at WDW but I do not carry my guidebook around. That is probably because I carry too much else around.
I am known as a compulsive brochure collector and save park maps from each trip to pass out to friends who ask about WDW. I also pick up brochures about the outlet centers, maps to get around WDW and the area. :)

I keep a copy of the old member guidelines in my desk at work. This copy was actually from a friend, I made a copy of her guidelines and then read it on a flight from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas when I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy in or not. It's from 1999, but I refer to it for banking deadlines, etc.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who plans and replans trips just for fun!

I keep a set of guidebooks, including the Member's Guidebook, next to my bed and read them almost every night before I go to bed. I especially like to look at the points charts and try to plan out our upcoming 2003, 2005, and beyond trips trying to maximize the use of our points!
