A commercial you see all the time for a product you will never buy

So, I keep the tv on during the day mostly for background noise. I hear some commercials repeated VERY frequently, and it got me to thinking about the products they are advertising.

One, in particular, is just pervasive. Jimmy Dean sausage. I have never in my life eaten or purchased any Jimmy Dean product and never intend to. Yet, I hear this commercial numerous times a day, on different channels. What is it with this company? No, I won't be buying your roll of meat, thanks.

What's a commercial you can't stop hearing for a product you will never buy?

Prescription drugs. And those commercials tend to be long ones. Or maybe they just feel like it.

Also, the insurance companies seem to advertise a real lot. Several different companies, and each shows their ads repeatedly.

I guess the channels and shows you watch dictates which commercials you see a lot of. I don’t see a lot of Jimmy Dean or lawyer ones. Just once in a while.

My kids love the quest channel... all the commercials on this channel are for lawyers looking for group settlements... this channel has shows we dont mind letting our kids watch.. but I hate the commercials that make my kids ask questions..
Mom is my medicine going to cause me to get cancer? Mom why do people think boy scouts caused harm to them? ..
( the other commercial they show worked we did buy Emeril 360 air fryer)

Nutrish dog food. Only three dog food companies do field tests so they are the only ones I would ever buy.
And Geico insurance.

All the ambulance chasing lawyer commercials

I hate these too.

I guess I should have clarified with NATIONAL commercials. Although maybe some of those are national?

The channel I have on most often is TBS or Comedy Central (Friends and Office reruns over here).

I saw a commercial the other day for a schizophrenia drug. It was 2 women taking an Uber ride to an art show. :confused3 IDK, but dh and I just looked at each other not realizing how prevalent schizophrenia is. I really didn't realize it was so common to have a commercial for it.

Spectrum TV. If I have to hear this mom ramble on how their internet is awesome for her daughters 2 million followers one more time. :rolleyes2

And @DLgal, I can hear the harmonica for Jimmy Dean as I type this. Never bought it either.

It's the disclaimers that make them long. Too often it sure seems to me that the side effects are far far worse than the ailment they treat. And "tell your Doctor if you have had a heart transplant......" things I would expect my Doctor to already know.

Anything that repeats twice per commercial break, every commercial break.
Oh! so this! Especially when it's done back to back. It's a recent marketing tool and I really hate it. I've taken to emailing those companies doing this, thanking them for the repeat so I can remember what product NOT to buy. Most recently - Bare Naked granola...... (a product I wouldn't buy anyway).

We have a used car dealer that isn't selling cars, he is selling credit to people who in many cases have no business getting credit. You can't walk on the lot and pay cash, they don't accept cash offers. They take a $1,000 down payment, knowing the buyer won't be able to make the payments. The cars all are equipped with GPS for easy repossession location and they keep a set of keys. One of the guys at my mechanic knows mechanics that work there. It isn't unusual for them to sell the same car three or four times in a year. Sell it. Repossess it. Resell it. Repeat.

Can I pick two.....the one for a hearing ad, where his son asks a question several times over and one for sonic hearing or something. Use this and you can hear the women on the other side of the pool say how great you look. How can you hear the women 200 ft away without hearing the 50 people between you and the women?
