I am done with whining, complaining, obsessing or gnashing my teeth about the changes to the DDP.

I just came back from lunch, and as I was out I was listening to CNN on the radio. I heard interviews with people who have lost loved ones in the Minnesota bridge collapse, and stories of rescuers waching helplessly b/c they could not help trapped victims.

Either I will go to WDW or I won't. Either I will use a DP or I won't. Either I will stay on-site or I won't. Those are all decisions, not problems.

If my biggest problem is the changes in the DDP then I don't have problems.

This puts EVERYTHING into perspective!! :sad1: People need to definetly understand the difference between problems and inconveniences. We are all very lucky! Watch the miracles unfold from this tragedy! My prayers to all involved!! God bless!

You got that right! We have just spent the last 20 hours trying to track down everyone we know. It is SUCH a busy bridge, all of us are prone to taking it at some point or another.

As for the DDP changes...losing the appetizer wont bother me too much, and I'd prefer to lose the dessert than the appetizer, but the loss of the tip is a HUGE difference for us, and we will not do DDP if those changes go into effect. We will continue to use our DDE card instead. We'll just go back to buying groceries and cooking in our DVC kitchen like we used to before DDP.

Dear Dianne:

I hope all of your friends and loved ones are okay--I can't imagine how difficult it must be to see the pictures and hear the stories and not know where the people you know are right now.

I know that there are many of us who have all those involved in our thoughs and prayers.

I agree sometimes we sweat the small stuff way too much. My friend was once complaining about something petty and dumb, I finally told her "You know there's a war and children starving in the world, why don't you worry about that instead!"

Maybe we'll all get hit by a bus or wiped out by a meteor storm, bad things happen. We sweat the small stuff because the big stuff is too much to handle.

Great post, Lee!

Thoughts and prayers to all in the Twin Cities who were affected by this terrible tragedy. We lived in the area for four years and I bet everyone was affected in one way or another.

I was traveling last night and I guess I was "lucky" enough to miss a lot of this. I saw the "bridge collapse' headline on CNN at the airport, but you don't really get "Details"

So I just finished watching ABC's live broadcast. I was teary already, but when they talked to the counselor's for the kids summer camp program I LOST IT!!! I was a camp counselor for years. There but for the Grace of God...... God Bless them ALL!

Very good post, I agree!

Yes, the ddp isn't as much of a "value" as it was last year. We get to choose to take it or leave it, but we are fortunate to get to go on vacation.
