I have always loved all things Disney and that includes the food. Even though I don't work in the parks or resorts themselves, I am at Disney often enough to sample the different places. I keep "track" of them in a little notebook that I have so I can remember my most memorable and not-so-memorable places. So I thought that I would start to share some here from time to time.

The "cast" will change sometimes but I'll always be there, LOL

First review is for the PLAZA RESTAURANT which I did today with a friend. (We'll call her Nikki)

For whatever reason, whenever I go to the parks, I get hungry in a hurry. Wonder why that is?! We had lunch reservations right at 11am and the only good experience here was being seated within five minutes.

Where we were seated was probably at the worst location. We were a party of 2 and got seated in the small room with the windows. Nice view outside, possibly for Wishes even, but it is CRAMPED in this room. If at all possible, request to sit in the main dining area. Our table was at a weird angle and within minutes, we were squished between a loud American family that liked to complain about the DDP and a larger Japanese family that insisted on placing a high chair that they did not even bother to use right up against our table. Plus this one Japanese girl wouldn't keep still and kept running into our table. I know Japanese and the parents wouldn't tell her to sit down. She ended up knocking our dish of condiments on the floor but that's another story....

Our waitress looked like she wanted to be anywhere but where she was. She had zero personality and never once smiled. We were her first table of the day but maybe something happened before the place opened, I don't know.... :confused3

My friend Nikki ordered the Reuben Sandwich and I ordered a Cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. The food arrived promptly but for the price we paid, there wasn't a lot of food on the plate. We only had eight french fries on it..... which isn't a lot. My cheeseburger was good but Nikki said the ham on her Reuben was undercooked but rather than bug our most "friendly" waitress, she just added a little thousand island dressing and said it helped slightly.

Needless to say, we were anxious for the check so we could get the heck out of there.

Next review which is better.... SCI-FI!

Good honest review, Cannot wait for more, Thank you!

Thanks for the review. We've always liked the Plaza so I hope it's not gone downhill.

Possibly the "ham" on her reuben seemed undercooked because it was corned beef!!!:rotfl2:

Reuben's don't have ham... it's corned beef. Maybe that's why she didn't like it. She was expecting something else.

Well this tells you how much I know about Reuben's, LOL. Then the beef was undercooked!

Now for the next .... SCI-FI

After the Plaza fiasco and seeing nearly everything in Fantasyland had a 40 minute wait time, Nikki and I went to MGM because we wanted to ride the Tower of Terror a few times! Wait time says 20 minutes but I don't think it took us even 10 to get on. Rode it once, had fun and decided we would ride it again before heading over to our res at Sci-fi for shakes....

Turns out we ride ToT again but the computer malfunctioned halfway and we spent about twenty minutes in the semi-dark on whatever floor we were on until someone "rescued" us. At least the guy had a sense of humor asking which of us booked the extended stay package. :rotfl: We hopped behind the scenes of the ride and up the special elevator and got on again right away. Luckily this ride was much.... smoother.

Anyway, this made us late for our reservations but they still took us at the podium. It seems because of the rain some guests didn't show up because when we were seated, there were a couple of empty cars that would remain that way the whole time we were there.

We were starving because of our lack of a nice lunch at the Plaza so we ordered more than just drinks. First both of us ordered the chocolate milkshakes and no complaints there. They were good. Nikki ordered another Reuben and I ordered another Cheeseburger. We figured we try this again, heh.

Our waitress was pleasant, if a little scatterbrained at times. We also ordered vanilla-flavored coke and when we asked for refills, twice she brought us DIET vanilla-flavored coke. But at least she smiled, unlike the waitress at Plaza.

Food arrived and my cheeseburger tasted the same so I have no complaints. Nikki said the Reuben was much better. She also got a LOT more fries with her order. I skipped the fries to get the melon salad which was so-so. I wish I got the fries instead.

All in all, a pleasant experience. A little dark in there so seeing the menu is kind of hard, but it's a drive-in movie theater, duh!

Next review.... FULTON'S CRAB HOUSE!

Thanks for the review, I really hope the Plaza is not going down hill.

Well this tells you how much I know about Reuben's, LOL. Then the beef was undercooked!
Corned beef is boiled/broiled for hours. But it does have a kind of unappetizing pink color to it, maybe she mistook that for undercooked.

Thanks for the review!! Great to see a CM giving reviews!!
