Due to travel this Friday but had a real sacre this weekend....Sunday a recurrence of a underlying back problem, by Sunday Night struggleing to walk. Usually when this happens every 12-18 mts it is a two week recovery; 10 hours on a plan this Friday....I don;t think so....warned family of impending cancellation :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Went to work yesterday and today to try to keep mobile, plenty of hot showers, anti inflammatories, good posture...

and I am mobile again:banana:   (touch wood).

Not well enough to lift cases or attempt coasters but looks like we are still going (having planned for over a year) :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Anyone flying out of Gatwick on 27 April see a family struggling have pity o us less able!!!

Bad timing!! :scared1:

Hope your back gets better quickly :wizard:

Good luck, Rob - hope you continue to improve. Whenever I get back problems, they always take months to clear up.

Fingers crossed for you hoping all goes well :grouphug:

Claire ;)

Nothing worse than a bad back. You don't realise how much you rely on your back until it goes!

Glad your mobile and can rest your back next to the pool in the sun :)

Glad it didn't turn out to be as bad as usual. Enjoy your trip :goodvibes

The power of positive thinking! Hope the holiday is pain free.

Rob, I was given this advice, i hope it helps you to.
24 hours before flight take strong paracetomol evry 4-6 hrs (as directed on pack)- I have co-codomol from the docs. also take them on the plane and then for 24 hours after you land, this will help your back, do lots of walking before you go as this gets the blood flowing in the inflamed area and helps it calm down.
Don't worry about the 10 hour flight, you will be fine! i have done it many times with a bad back!

I have a back problem also and find that i can't sit or stand for to long .
Has you ever tried the heat patches which you can buy from most stores.
I use these a lot and have found them to be most helpful when flying or just getting around . These patches offer up to 12 hours heat, It might be worth having a try. Good luck with the flight and hope the holiday goes well.:)

Best of luck

If you're mega rich and want to take a physiotherapist with you my DH would be available..only problem you have to take his DW and 2 DD's as well.

.I know how you feel.My neck cracked the day we were due to fly home and I had to wear a collar. The hospital gave me diazapam and some tramadol equivalent so I don't really remember the flight home-at least you have a few days to pill pop before you go.Drink plenty of water as well and regular walks on the plane-have afab time -the heat will do you good:yay:  :grouphug:

Many thankf or the advice.

We will be leaving in an hour for the B&B and pleaased to say the back has lossened up considerably so fingers crossed.

I did like the sugegstion of my own personal entourage:lmao:

anyway, be posting ina couple of weeks :woohoo:
