Yes, yes, yes! Was there and loved it!!! If you're a real fan of the movie you've got to go. I took pictures of my son under the sink ala Randy, then had my picture taken under the sink, too. I have pics of me and my sister in front of the leg lamp, and my whole family had a pic taken in front of the family Christmas tree. When we were there it was actually snowing so we have pics of us on the front porch. It was so neat !
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but being from Indiana and knowing the movie was based there, the house in the movie is actually in Cleveland, OH, not South Bend.

I'm so grateful that you posted this because I grew up in Hammond (the city where the book/movie is based) and I had never heard of the Christmas Story house. I was thinking I was a bad Hoosier!
What are you doing in SB? Honk and wave at me just west of Exit 96 (Elkhart East) as you're passing by. And totally stop at the house and take tons of pics. Have a safe trip.

I didn't see that in the profile box and was under the assumption that since the movie was based in Northern IN they thought the house was there too and were going to visit it there. Whoops! It happens!
We would have done that, but when the pic was taken I was pregnant and by the time Christmas came the baby was born. I just couldn't send out a Christmas card with everyone pictured on it but my new baby boy!
Yup I am driving thru and figured that would be a good stop!! Love, love, love that movie! We are going out for the ND vs. Stanford game. My mom just came home from Ohio, she was out there for a wwII reunion and the house was closed the days she was out
