We'd never taken the ferry from MGM to Epcot before, so we thought it'd be a nice treat. We got on, thinking it'd be a leisurely ride, and while it was, it's a lot longer than we anticipated. It's not a ferry from DHS to Epcot. It's a ferry from DHS to the Swan, Beach Club, Boardwalk, and THEN Epcot. On the plus side, it dropped us off right at the international gateway, so we weren't rushed to get to our Chefs De France and I was able to get some snapshots around the Gateway.
Two princessess together!
We got ourselves a drink, and stopped to watch "Mo'Rockin'" in Morocco, which was great, but I do have an issue with their belly dancer. It was more of a booty dancer than a belly dancer
We made our way over to Chefs De France (which was packed!) and within a few minutes we were seated and felt very French. I even started to develop an inferiority complex.
My lovely wife started with the French Onion Soup, while I went with the lobster bisque which was EXCELLENT. Being the snobby foodies that we are, we were very excited with the start of the meal, as these soups were an excellent start.
Unfortunately, things went a little downhill after that. I ordered a standard sirloin, and it was waaaay over cooked, dry even. Julie's fettucine and beef was flavorful, but nothing that knocked our socks off. However, at least we got to meet the chef :
We were stuffed, dry steak notwithstanding, and headed back on out. We weren't sure we wanted to take the ferry back, and figured, you know, DHS isn't that far away...maybe we could walk it!
Coming up: the lovely evening walk from Epcot to DHS, a nice highlight of our trip.
