~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

I found that a full time job really helps to structure my days a little better. And it makes me appreciate a quiet evening or weekend. I had an at home business for a short time. I made custom quilts. But it really wasn't very satisfying. I worked really hard but the amount of money I made wasn't worth all the hours of work. And I got distracted easily, so it wasn't a good situation for me. I was better off at an office.

What you need is a new addiction. I found two good ones to keep me busy along with a full time job. I hope you can find something, too. :)

Hmmm, what a pickle!! I will say, thanks to the downed monorail, we had quite an adventure similar to yours our first MK day and it was no bueno!

Thanks to it though I now know the walk from MK Monorail line to the Contemporary Resort is very short, 5 to 10 min depending how fast you walk, should this ever happen again I would walk there and take one of their boats! Probably shorter lines at least!

Glad you found a magical CM to turn the day around!! Disney is great at that!

Now I need to go back and read all the posts I missed!

You are in need of a BIG HUG. I am sorry your feeling so out of sorts. Your always welcome here i will keep you busy!

Oh and if your in need:

I am sure getting a job at a local sewing place? or start a sewing group?
Take more hours at Target?

Become a Disney TA?

Ok. -all caught up on your trip! Really I only missed the waterpark, and I gotta say, you ALMOST had me wanting to do a waterpark! Your day looked peaceful and relaxing, but then I remember I have young kiddos who can swim and I think of all the work it'd require of me, lol!

I just adore your pics at the waterparks! So many good ones!

That's one of the reasons I work full time. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't.
I hope you start to feel better soon. There's something nasty going around.

:thumbsup2 Yippee another entry from your trip. Thanks for trying to get me moving on mine, but it isn't happening right now. Maybe later? Looking for my motivation!

Still been busy planning out stuff for my Thanksgiving week trip. So excited that I read about the "glitch" yesterday with MDE that allowed me to book more than one headliner at EPCOT at HS. I managed to book all NINE of us for both RnRC and TSM at HS for one day and both TT and Soarin' at EPCOT on another day. Sure we are stuck with "The Land" as option 3, but it's an early morning FP+ that we probably won't make anyway since we have Chef Mickey breakfast that morning at 7:30am.

Sorry about your lack of motivation. I'm not sure what I'll do when my kids are all out of the house and I don't have a million things to do during the week with them AFTER working all day. I think it's a bit crazy sometimes, but I do like it. Heck my youngest leaves elementary school next year and I've been so involved with PTO there for the last few years and all of those activities and the staff there that I'll miss that too! :sad2:

Love the nails! They are perfect for Halloween. I am so sorry about that monorail. That was just awful, then to find out that they hold your reservation. Good to know that they do that. You all did not look as bad as you think. The picture looked great. Love the pic with Lady Tremaine with the girls and don't know who that was photo bombing in the back ground. So happy to hear that the CM made the evening turn around for you all.

Absolutely no Disney blues allowed!! You always give me a Disney boost when I read your posts. I have to admit I have not been in the Disney mood even with a trip to plan. :confused3 Maybe after the holidays I will get into the mood. Just so much going on here.

Everyone have a beautiful day!!!

D, I'm sorry I'm slow in responding.

I really think that you need to give up on the MONORAIL at all costs. Perhaps one more bag prior to each trip should be earmarked for cab fares (which aren't too bad around the resort area). You are like us that they are always breaking down, being stuck, etc. I truly have come to hate them.

I'm glad the CM at 1900 Park Fare turned your night around and made it better for all of you.

Going right to bed was definitely the right call on this evening.

I have missed you - but due to my own absence not yours ;) Sorry you are having trouble with the Disney blues and that you are feeling so restless.

I believe that you will be called to what you are supposed to be adding to your life, but I'm going to throw out a couple of suggestions of things I think might be up your alley.

I have a friend in Oregon who is involved in making baby quilts for every baby that has to stay in the NICU. I know full on quilts aren't really what you do but thought I'd throw it out there.

Also, along those same lines, but maybe closer to your heart because of your dad, how about finding a reitrement home or assisted living place nearby and quilting for the residents who may not have family close by?

Not sure how or where this exists in your area, but you would be an amazing teen mentor - maybe start with the girls school and see what direction they point you. Or even working with teenagers on diet and exercise, not from the persepective of an expert but just someone who has made some effective changes in her own life.

You could also start an Etsy store (or add to yours) with the fabulous Magic Band cuffs you made. No one else is doing it and I think those are far less time consuming for you but may still be lucrative.

I would suggest, at this point, don't overload yourself. Your girls are still home and even though they are usually busy with their own thing, you want to be available to them every chance you get for the next few years. Not a lot of teenage girls would ask their mom to come hang out with them between school and work - they'd rather hang out with girlfriends or even be by themselves over hanging with their mom - you are doing this right so don't stress yourself out.

Also, if you feel like you need to add a project right now - see what your girls think would be good for you. They know you well and see things in you that you probably don't recognize yourself. There are so many things you are good at, you'll figure out what you are supposed to be doing.

Wow - empty nester syndrome while nest is still full. Only someone who has had every moment planned with things to make, do, cook, show, etc.

You'll find something to pick up the slack and then you'll be your usual happy, hectic self.

Update: hurray for Disney Magic! And don't discount the food thing. It's amazing how a little protein and/or sugar will make things that had been making you twitch suddenly seem funny. I loved the Step-Sister Photobomb.

I know I should be making the PTR a TR, but I'm just now getting to the point that I can remember the day I was sick without getting sympathetic nausea. Maybe this weekend when I'm stuck at work. On the phones. On a weekend that's supposed to be the PERFECT FALL WEEKEND. (I'm anticipating boredom. Much boredom)

and Mo - you made me so happy with the sloppy Sven GIF. He's so cute!!! How could you not just love him?

Hang in there, D~. You'll soon be back to your usual 90 mile an hour lifestyle and loving it.

Prayers and hugs to all who need them.

Hi D~ & everyone else!
Things are slowing down for me so I am back to catching up on everyone's trip reports.:thumbsup2. So sorry you are sick:sick: Get Well Soon!

On the boredom, I have the perfect idea for you: :yay: A DISNEY TRAVEL AGENT (which could possibly mean solo training trips for you :goodvibes)

I am getting pretty excited about our family trip in November, we are staying at the Polynesian (a little worried about all the construction). It will be all about the little ones: twin 4 year old nieces and 6 year old nephew.

I am enjoying your TR, and was so happy to have my first dismeet with you & everyone.popcorn::

Hope you are feeling better soon,
Monica

You might just be right Sue... Sadly, my business is a full time job (most of the time) - maybe I just need to get out of the house more?

Hehehe... So what are your 2 new addictions?

Hmmm, what a pickle!! I will say, thanks to the downed monorail, we had quite an adventure similar to yours our first MK day and it was no bueno!

Yah - Monorail adventures are NOT my sort of fun.

LOL - well next time, I will consider the walk to the Contemp... Do they have boats that go from the Contemp to the other lagoon resorts?

Yes - it was great that Aziz turned our day around!

It's great to have you back Terri!

Become a Disney TA?

Hahaha... Yes, I guess I could always adopt a bunch of cats... It wouldn't be so bad if MM wasn't gone right now too...

I've considered being a Disney TA in the past... I am just not sure it's something I'd be really good at. Besides - I love my TA too much - I would still have to use her for my own trips. :scratchin

Ok. -all caught up on your trip! Really I only missed the waterpark, and I gotta say, you ALMOST had me wanting to do a waterpark! Your day looked peaceful and relaxing, but then I remember I have young kiddos who can swim and I think of all the work it'd require of me, lol!

Yes - I can't imagine doing a water park with the little ones - that would be just way too much work for you. I would save it until they are older - maybe the 7-8 age range... Then they'll be old enough to have lots of fun, but you won't have so much work to do to keep them safe. :thumbsup2

Thanks! We had a lot of fun there. Water parks are must dos for us in the summer months!

That's one of the reasons I work full time. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't.

Yah - I just need to find something good to occupy my time.

Sounds like your Thanksgiving trip is really coming together - and YAY for the glitch in the FP system. :woohoo: That's awesome!

It's odd - that's for sure. I just need to find something awesome for myself, I guess... And maybe I will have oodles of $$ that I can just take solo trips to Disney all the time? LOL

Love the nails! They are perfect for Halloween. I am so sorry about that monorail. That was just awful, then to find out that they hold your reservation. Good to know that they do that. Thanks Lynee... I already lost one yesterday. :( Grrr... I need to go in sometime this weekend and have them fix it for me.

Yah - it's nice to know that they realize when the monorail goes down and hold reservations... That would have been nice to know when we were standing there freaking out. LOL

I hope you find your Disney groove too... Have a nice weekend.

D, I'm sorry I'm slow in responding.

Hi Kathy... YOu've been on my mind and in my prayers.

Yes - I agree completely. The sad thing is that we LOVE the monorail... It's so fun to ride and it's just "Disney" - ya know? I just wish they would update the system and make it more reliable.

We were very happy that Aziz saved the day for us... and the girls loved him!

I have missed you - but due to my own absence not yours Sorry you are having trouble with the Disney blues and that you are feeling so restless.

Thank you Jennifer for all of these great ideas! You are right - I do need to enjoy my time here and now and not worry so much about what the next few years are going to bring for me...

I just see Allison so happy with Gus, and I do see this relationship as something pretty special to the two of them - at least for the time being. I wasn't ready for this chapter in her life. It makes me very happy, but it also makes me realize that she is moving on with her own life... And very soon - my role in her life won't be as important as it is now... It just makes me very sad, that's all. Lois has told me many times that even though our roles within our children's lives evolve and change - each one is precious. And even though my girls will move on and move out, I will always be important to them... I sure hope so. :flower3:

Thank you for taking the time to write out all of those ideas for me - you had some really great ones! I will look into some of them further and see if I can come up with anything local.

Wow - empty nester syndrome while nest is still full. Only someone who has had every moment planned with things to make, do, cook, show, etc.

Hi Monica! Glad to hear that life is settling down a little bit for you!

I do like the TA idea... But I love my TA so much - I would still have to let her do my trips. LOL

OOOH - that sounds like a wonderful trip!!! Very exciting! I would be worried about the construction too... It wasn't very pretty when we were there in August - but it's gotta be better by now? Is the pool open yet?

I know - it was so nice to finally be able to meet you!!! I love the picture you texted me the other night! That was awesome! :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

I wish I had something exciting to update you all on from yesterday.

I did work in my sewing room for about an hour... but that's all.

I was so very sick all day. I never tried to look for our thermometer to take my temp, but I know I was running a high fever most of the day - I was under several blankes, just shaking and shivering all day long. All I had in the house was Ibuprofen, so I was trying to hold off taking it until 7pm last night. I swear, for a few hours - I was delirious with fever... I don't remember much of anything - except stumbling to the bathroom to take the ibuprofen. Then I passed out in my recliner again... I woke at about 7:30 sopping wet with sweat - my fever finally broke. It was crazy... I have never ever experienced anything like that before.

My fever continued to come and go throughout the night...

Thankfully, Gus picked Allison up from work last night and brought her home - I was in no condition to drive. And Allison picked up some Tylenol for me while she was in town... Such good kids!

So, I've been able to alternate Tylenol/ibuprofen and keep my fever a little bit more under control.

I am still not feeling the greatest, but in all honesty - it's the fever that is making me feel the worst. I am not sure what I have? But I am certain that Allison will probably get it - she has been hooked to my side all this week. :scared: And in turn - Gus will probably get it too, as he has been here every moment possible.

It's just been a really rough week for me... I don't feel comfortable posting on a public forum when Josh is out of town... but him and MM have been in North Dakota for the last week hunting... So, that's part of the reason I have been so stir crazy... It's not so bad having Josh gone, but with MM gone - it's really, really quiet around here.

Thankfully, they will be home this afternoon. Although - I did tell him to stay away longer, because whatever this is that I have - I don't want him to get... He is the biggest baby when he is sick. :crazy2:

So, that's all - nothing exciting or fun to report today... Just me complaining about being sick. In all fairness - I don't think I have ever been this sick in my life, certainly not in recent years. Hopefully I can keep my fever at bay today...

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Sorry you've not been feeling well, praying for fast healing for you!

And yes, the resorts have boats to the other lagoon resorts! We used them a few times this trip! :)

Oh, D, I'm so sorry to hear how sick you've been. and that you have a major case of the Disney blues. I've been kind of down in the dumps too - a combination of the lack of being at Disney and my Orioles not making it to the World Series. :headache:

Also, I was trying to catch up at work - finally I'm caught up, but my schedule is still hectic for the next two weeks with work stuff. I spent last Monday and again today cleaning out my sewing room. I "think" I've gotten it to a point where I can actually find things - and I did finally find the cow print fabric I bought last year.

The two dogs we adopted two weeks ago have also been keeping me busy. They are very good, but we needed to get them into our routine, and so far its been a good fit.

I've had a headache most of the day, so I hope I'm not coming down with anything.

Thank you Terri... I really appreciate the prayers.

This is good to know... In a pinch - I will do this route. :thumbsup2

Thanks Tess... I hate complaining about being sick here, but it just took me by surprise.

I am sorry about your Disney blues and the Orioles not making the WS... Double blues for you. :scared: I hope you are able to find something to make life more fun for you.

I'd forgotten about your new family members... Glad to hear they have been a good fit for you and Charlie.

Praying you are not coming down with anything.

Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Thank you Lynee.

**********************************************************

Thank you everyone for your well wishes...

I will say, I was feeling MUCH better yesterday - but I still feel awful. I managed only one dose of ibuprofen at 11am, and I've been fever free since then. Here's hoping the fever portion is over. TMI -----> However, my lungs are still full of ickiness, and my head still hurts from trying to cough it up... :crazy2: <----- End TMI Everyone says I should use Mucinex, but man - I really hate that stuff... I don't know if it's just me or the nature of the drug itself, but it does not react well with me, and that's all I am going to say about that. So, I am really trying to avoid taking it, if possible.

Josh and MM finally made it home yesterday afternoon... I opened the door to the truck and MM jumped out and hugged us all... And then he continued to tell us all about his hunting adventures for about an hour... Then he fell asleep. He didn't even budge when I told him I was going up to bed - usually he will come up and crawl in with us for a little while. Too tired to climb the stairs, I guess. :confused3

It sounds like they had a great trip, and brought home their fair share of pheasants. MM has turned into quite the good hunting dog... Josh and I argue all the time if his favorite part of life as a dog is hunting or family... I am certain it's family. ::yes::

Despite being so sick, I slept horribly last night... I couldn't fall to sleep until after 11, and I was wide awake at 2:30am - I finally gave up at 4. I am sure Josh will yell at me when he gets up.

Today... I am taking Alli up to church with Gus... He is bringing her home after, then to work.

Josh and V are going on a youth mentor hunt with MM... This is something that Josh runs every year, and he really enjoys doing it - this will be V's first year going, since she just passed her gun safety training this spring. Josh's uncle is also coming down to help out. It should be a good time for both of them.

I am not sure what I am doing with the rest of my day... Considering how much sleep I got last night - I should really schedule a nap... :rolleyes1

Hopefully I am able to work at Target tomorrow. I am really hesitant to go in if I still have chest congestion... If it was just a cold - I would go, but that fever scared the crap out of me - and I would hate to get anyone else sick. If I have any chest congestion left at all - I am leaning towards not going in. Opinions on this?

I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday! Prayers and good thoughts to all. :grouphug:

D~

I love the part of your story where MM had to tell you all about the hunting trip. I'm sure that is what he was doing, too. :rotfl:

I hope your chest congestion clears up fast. I had that happen to me one time and it seemed to last a long time. :( If you are coughing a lot then you should stay home. You need to take care of it so that it will go away.

Weekend naps are the best. :lovestruc

i'm sorry you have been so sick! Chest colds are the pits!!!!!!!

I hate to take mucinex too but it does really help break up that congestion. I would try to take it for a couple days at least. Once all that settles in your chest it can really stick around!!! As for work, you definitely shouldn't go if you run a fever today. I know you said it was breaking yesterday so maybe it won't come back! As for the coughing I would just play it by ear and see how you feel in the morning. If you still feel like crap, don't go. You definitely need to give your body time to rest and recover!!!! :cloud9:

Man, you really do have bad luck with that monorail!!!! We took it over for our ressie to 1900 Park Fair and it was perfect!!!!! It's silly that they don't have a walkway from GF to MK. They have half of one. Really, what's the downside to finishing it!!!! Although, it might not have been a great option anyway considering the heat...... Glad your evening turned around. I spent half of my dinner there in the lobby with Evie. She had a total meltdown that night about the characters! It was weird, but whatcha gonna do. :rotfl2:

Hi Sorry I haven't been on the Dis for a while. I was on vacation to WDW for 2 weeks then when I got home it was hard for me to catch up. I was also not feeling the best.

I am also thinking we will be taking a break from Disney for a while, so it feels weird reading about it and hearing about everyone's great trips when you don't know when you will be back. Oh well, the Dis is more then just Disney right?

Sorry you are not feeling well. If your fever comes back that strong again you should probably get it looked at. It doesn't sound pleasant. Hope you get better soon!
