I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not but I have not seen it...
At Rope Drop in DCA for a NON EEH day, what is the best way to get to Luigis Flying Tires right away? Do you follow along with everyone else headed to RSR and then try to get out of the herd when you get to Luigis? Or is it best to take the back way through a Bugs Land?

I think taking the Bug's Land short cut is a good idea if your goal is to walk on Luigi's first.

We followed the crowd into Carsland and then just went down the left side instead of right. The CMs will try to herd you back into the RSR line, but just tell them you are trying to get to Luigi's. We did this and even waited a few minutes for DH to get through the RSR FP line and still walked on.

Are you able to line up in the FP line for RSR before the Rope Drop? Or are you waiting behind the Rope and then go to line up for the FP? THANKS!

We were there last week (Tuesday) and arrived 30 minutes before opening on a non EMH day. The gates open at that time and they let guests into BVS. The RSR FP line will begin forming on the left side of the rope drop, along CCT and down. Hollywood Blvd. The line will be forming right away. We were right at the CCT entrance when we got in line. Got the RSR FP, walked on LFT and MJJ. Lines were forming when we got off the rides.

If you go through bug's land, wouldn't you have to walk all the way *around* the ride, then to the main street and into the line?

We just went in the main way. Stay to the *left*; don't do the wide right, or you have to cross over across really annoyed people to get over there. The day we did this first, the doors weren't even opened yet, and the CMs in front (who were pretending to dust and straighten the outside) did a big cheer for us and opened it up with a flourish, then walked us through the line and onto the ride.

We got to the front gate about 45 mins prior to opening. They let us on to BVS about 30 minutes prior to opening. DH got straight into the FP line and was maybe 7th or 8th in line, while I went to rope drop with the kids. He made it to Luigi's just after I had parked the stroller.

You cannot use the Bug's Land entrance to Cars Land at rope drop to get to Luigi's quicker. I've tried. There's a CM there telling you that you have to use the main Cars Land entrance for the first 30 min. Instead, you should follow the big crowds down the regular way to Cars Land and stay to the left.

This happened to my wife and kids back in July while was in the RSR FP line.

So, to clarify. If we are going on a Non EMH morning, get there early and they will problem let people into BVS and DH can get in the RSR FP line and DS and I can get in the Rope drop line. If we get RSR FP first and then go to RSR (lets say this is a Tuesday), how long do you think we will have to wait to get into RSR? We are thinking about doing DCA on 11/27 - the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

Or would you go to RSR first at rope drop and then come back for RSR FP's? Think the FPs will be gone by then if we use the WIDE Right technique and are one of the first on to RSR?

Just FYI on a not very crowded EMH we rode RSR at rope drop (first 20 people or so) and by the time we got off the ride the line was 45 minutes.

So if we want to ride it twice that day, our best bet is to be there early, be one of the very first on the ride and then come back for the FP? When you say the "the line was 45 minutes", which line? The Ride line or the FP line?

I assume they are talking about the RSR Standby line.

You can do wide right and get on the ride, then go back for the FP. Just keep in mind that the ride is not guaranteed to be operating at opening. This is why I just went for the FP each time. As far as I know, it was running each day. I know that on two occassions this week, it was not running until noon (at least that is what TP reported).

the ride line.
the fp line didn't open until 9am (regular park opening) so we did some other stuff and then at about 10:00 went to the FP line. We got FPs for 3:30

This was going to be our plan as well, except some days the FP are gone within the first hour. I just don't want to wait in a long FP line and end up with no FP. What you could do is have DH wait for the FP while you and the kids try to get on in the Standby right away. :confused3
