We want to take my MIL on the 4 day cruise but will need a cabin that will fit 3 adults, 2 kids. Is that a possibility & how expensive is it? Any suggestions ideas?

A Cat 4 hold 5 but I would suggest that you get two Cat 10's or a Cat 10 and a Cat 9....the price will probably breakeven for two cabins over the price of one Cat 4. The Cat 4 does have a veranda, but if you get 2 cabins you have 2 bathrooms and lots more room. The Cat 4 rooms have a queen bed, a single sleeper sofa, a bed that pulls down from the ceiling and a Murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. When the Murphy bed is down is is blocking the door to the veranda and you must climb over the bed to get to it. The beds are down only at night and your room steward will put it back in the wall during the day.

When checking for rooms remember that CONNECTING means that there is an interior door that connect two staterooms. ADJOINING means the cabins are next to each other. Or you can have 1 cabin across the hall from the other (Cat 10 and Cat 9).

We are a party of 5 also (me, DH and 3 DD's). We originally booked a cat 4 for our upcoming 4 day cruise, then had our TA change it to 2 connecting cat 10. Although we had to sacrifice the verandah, we were able to save about $550 and now we will have more space, more privacy and the part I'm most excited about...2 bathrooms!!

I have also heard of people getting an outside room either with a porthole or a verandah and an inside room right across the hall. Our kids are too young to be across the hall, but if you are traveling with your MIL, maybe she could take one or both of the kids with her and you and your husband will have your own room and everyone will still be able to take advantage of the verandah.
