just got back from the laborday weekend camping trip. (not to disney) but i thought i would share the pics of our a/c in the tent.

i put it inside the door and zipped as far as i could. then used duct tape to seal around. used the rain flap to cover the screen at the top of tent also. it worked good, and i was cold all night. the only thing though is that the duct tape did not stay put for long, by the next day it was falling off.
anyway, here it is:

How cool! I always wondered if there was a way to put A/C inside of tents!

We went in June to Fort Wilderness and tried the A/C for the first time in a tent and it worked perfectly! We stopped at a Jo-Ann fabrics and bought some foam (the same foam you would use to repair a seat cushion). We used the foam to form an insulation around the A/C unit and we duct taped the foam to the A/C. We camped for four nights and we didn't have a problem with the duct tape falling off.

We're supposed to leave Friday for 3 nights at the Fort (if Hannah doesn't come through, that is!). :scared:
I'll take pics and post them of the A/C unit.

I will have to buy a unit when they clearance them at walmart very soon.

YOU MUST BE FROM THE DEEP SOUTH
AS JEFF FOXWORTHY MIGHT SAY

YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK:rotfl2:

ALL JOKES ASIDE, GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

speaking of AC in tents, check this out. anyone every try it?

I haven't tried this personally, but I was warned away from it by a friend. She told me that she felt like she spent all of her time getting ice to keep the cooler full, but that it did help keep things cooler than outside the tent. The camping trip was in NC in late April and my friend said that she didn't think it would do much in the deep summer but keep her running for ice more often. I'd love to hear another opinion of it, though. She's the only person I've ever known to try it.

OP - love the ac setup! I have gotten so many great ideas from this board on keeping a tent cool that I think I've managed to convince my DH to tent camp at FW for a future visit. :cool1: Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Those kooleraire things are really only effective in dryer climates. Lot's of humidity doesn't work.
