A/C in a tent?

I have a picture of our setup at Ft. Wilderness that I'll try to post tonight. We camped in a 15x14 tent this past August and took our window a/c. We took two fans to help circulate the air but we actually had to turn off the a/c most nights because it got really cool. We live in South GA so we are familiar with the warm, sticky, muggy evenings but we didn't have that feeling inside the tent with the a/c on. Our tent has two doors so we placed the a/c unit on a white wire mess rack (the kind you can put in your kitchen cabinets for plates to sit on). I placed a piece of plastic under the a/c to "catch" the water that was coming out of the unit so it would run out the back instead of inside the tent and I made sure the rack was tilted up to help with the direction of the run off. The tent has a top and bottom zipper for the doors which really help. Just zipped the top one down and the bottom one over but there was still some gaps so I cut some smaller pieces of plastic and duct taped them to the tent walls. I madfe sure only the face of the unit was inside the tent due to the water issue. We also put some indoor/outdoor carpet on the tent floor to provide a bit of confort. Red-neck camping is the only way to go. We had a blast!!!
