A bus between the TTC and Downtown Disney?????

So as far as I've known (for at least the last 6 years), the only regularly-scheduled Disney Transport buses at the TTC are for Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. So as far as I've known, there has not been a regular bus route running between the TTC and Downtown Disney.

But there's someone on another message board who is insisting that during recent stays at both Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge that after 4 p.m. there were no DTD buses at either resort and that they had to go to the TTC to catch a bus to DTD.

This sounds far-fetched to me. But she seems so convinced that I thought I'd better check it out. It seems especially screwy with WL, as between WL and DTD you'd have to make two separate transfers in each direction.

Hopefully, you'll all tell me that I'm silly for even asking such a question. But like I said, she seems SOOO convinced, it's shaking my confidence.

THANKS!

There are no buses that run between TTC and DTD for obvious reasons.
You're right it wouldn't make sense to have to get from WL to TTC just to get to DTD.

Thanks! of course, I'd feel better if about 17 other people responded the same way before I go tell this person to get a grip on reality. ;)

Maybe there was a temporary condition that made Wilderness Lodge guests go to TTC where there was a tempoary bus to Downtown Disney. I don't believe that service from the resort to DTD would end at 4 without some alternate arrangement put in place.

That makes NO sense. There's never any bus transportation between Downtown Disney and any theme park, and that would include the TTC.

And, uh, what are you doing spending time on other forums? ;)

Nope, you're correct. Why, in God's name, would they bus guests over from the WL in order to bus them to DTD??? Nope, only buses to AK and DHS from there.

Just thinking out loud and i dont think this answer your question.
Its not Disney Transportation but i just wonna add that the LYNX bus (route111) goes form TTC to DTD (TTC-MCO) every 30,min.:thumbsup2

That's true. Not sure how much it would be..not very much.

Did they say it worked?

Which reminds me ... There was some talk on The DIS that after 2 PM (or was it after 8 PM) daily, something changed about the transportation arrangements for some of the resorts about the Magic Kingdom. This was some years ago, I don't remember what it was (never tried it myself), perhaps someone else might recall.

About twenty years ago, when Disney ran buses to the TTC, you could take a red-flagged bus which stopped at Epcot and the Walt Disney World Village Marketplace.

Sure. But some years ago - aka between then and now :teeth: WDW stopped providing direct transportation from DtD and any theme park, in either direction. This includes the TTC, since it's the primarymaceess to the MK.

Too many people were parking free at Downtown Disney and taking buses directly to the parks. This deprived both WDW of revenue and DtD shoppers of parking spots.

When the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness shared a boat to the MK, it would reverse its pattern in the afternoon (i.e., from MK-FW-WL to MK-WL-FW). But it's been years since they shared a boat.

They still shared a boat the last time we stayed at WL, which was in 2010. However, it seemed like it wasn't shared, because on the way to MK, WL was the last stop, and the first stop on the way back from MK. Maybe the boat still reversed direction then, but it wasn't noticeable to us, because of the times of day we went to MK and returned.

When we went to Hoop De Doo one night, we got on the boat that had just come from MK to WL, and it took us right over to FW.

So there is public transportation "LYNX bus" that can get you from the airport potentially with a carryon, to TTC, then onto your hotel? Just wondering as someone had a child meeting up with them from a flight mid trip.:surfweb:

Are you asking about transportation to a WDW resort? If so, there is no resort-TTC transportation other than to the monorail resorts, so it would not work to use Lynx from MCO to the TTC and then get from the TTC to a WDW resort.

If you are talking about a Disney resort, and the child is 16 years of age or older and on the resort reservation, then why not have them use DME to the resort? No problem with a carry-on bag there.

The LYNX 111 get you from MCO to TTC. Thats it.
Depending on you hotel you can take a cab or...from TTC
The LYNX 111´s route passes hotel plaza blw so it stops outside Best Western and the X where the downtown disney marked place, are and it stops at DTD west side.
The bus have enuff space for suitcases wheelchairs and so on.
The bus can be half-full in rush hr.
