A bright spot for DD17

She may have a broken foot, but her show choir director just appointed her Dance Captain. I'm so glad he is being understanding with her. She really is a great dancer and an excellent leader. He has talked with the choreographer and they're going to make sure she babies that foot for the next 3 weeks. She hates the clunky walking boot (it's 95 degrees here!) but she is faithfully wearing it 23hrs/day and icing in the evening. She's got it elevated and I gave her a naproxen for the pain and swelling, so she ought to be good to go for another 12 hours.

I tried to post on the thread about her broken ankle but the boards wouldn't cooperate! That would really suck to be injured and missout on your Sr. year... to her... Can't imagine if DD couldn't swim this year... that would be major drama!

Sounds as if her teachers recognize the contribution that she makes to the program and they are doing what they can to make sure she is included. Good for her and good for them. I hope she enjoys her Sr. year despite her injury...
