I'm still looking into the vacation club, but i had a question on the timeframe of purchasing- Does anyone know approximately how long from when the paperwork is completed to actually getting into the ownership there?

I think ours was settle and we were owners in less than 30 days

We bought directly though Disney and were able to book a reservation with points as soon as we gave our credit card number for our downpayment. In fact, our guide assisted with our first reservation by setting up a 3 way call between us, our guide and MS. If you buy a resale (which we did for our second contract), the process is much longer---at least six weeks and it could be much longer than that.

While it's true you can book right away when buying directly from DVC, you cannot use banked or borrowed points to do so.
