Im debating weather or not to get a laptop and try and sell the old desktop for whatever i can get (Its a PIII HP HP Pavilion xt953)

Any opinions?

Thanks!

What will you be using the laptop for? It has a Celeron processor which isn't as good as the regular Intel chip if you will be playing games, etc.

I doubt you will get much for your old computer.

It sounds like a good deal to me. I just purchased a Dell two weeks ago, but its only a Dimension 3000 with a Intel Pentium 4 Processor, 512 MB Memory, 80 GB Hard Drive, and a 17 inch Monitor. I paid right around $650.

I am a computer buying novice though. Maybe someone with more experience can better answer your question.

I sold computers for several years and highly recommend Dell. However, I would strongly discourage ANYONE from buying a Celeron processor. JMHO

This is a notebook computer, and a celeron M is differnet than the Celeron used in desktops. I wouldn't not buy it for that reason.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Where did you find it?

Yes, the Celeron M is specifically made for laptop computers, different from a regular celeron processor. My dh was a top dell salesperson until november of last year and he feels while the Celeron M is okay, if you're going to be doing a lot of heavy graphics work or game playing or you use multiple large programs open at once you would want to go with the Pentium M processor instead.
