I am due to fly to New York this month. It is starting to look like i will have to cancel because of my mother being ill. To me this isn't a problem I can go next year so for me there is no problem, but my mother is feeling bad is there anything I can do to make her feel better.

Mums always feel their kids' disappointments. All I would do is talk to her and she will see you are sincere in saying that it doesn't matter. Far more important to get your mum well by helping her as much as you can. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery. Hug x

I guess there isn't an easy answer to this. You've got a great attitude and hopefully this will rub off on her and make her feel more positively about this. Mention lots of times about how how much more money you will have saved by next year and how hopefully the exchange rate will have improved so lots more $$ for your ££!! I think she'll probably not feel quite so bad once she starts feeling better, IYKWIM. Hope she makes a speedy recovery.

I contacted lastminute.com and will probably hear from them on tuesday. Will contact virgin wednesday (I am night shift monday and tuesday)

Got an email back from lastminute.com I can cancell the room with only a £20 loss :cool1:. Will contact virgin on thursday and see what happens with them. Its making my mum feel better but she might not be when she finds out that the money is going to be put towards my plan to keep chickens.
:lmao:
