I long to do a deep review, but it just isn't going to happen. We've been home three+ weeks and this is the first chance I have had to sit for any length of time at a real computer and photobucket is annoying me.

Anyway - DH, me, six kids, my mom and sister went to FL for two weeks. We went on a 4-night Disney Cruise and did one day at Aquatica, two at SeaWorld and two at Busch Gardens. I hope to do a deeper BG review one of these days because they are harder to come by. WE LOVED THESE PARKS. We eschewed WDW this trip b/c I didn't want to deal with FP+. We have always said we wanted to do these other parks, but we never made time. This was a wonderful way to go. We loved it.

The park is just beautiful. My husband had a SuperGrover pass which gave us free preferred parking. That was fun. I don't think it was all that necessary in May, but we didn't mind front row parking.

We got there as the park opened. The kids and I had the passes that allowed unlimited admissions for 14 days. We immediately grabbed maps and ask an employee where breakfast was being served. We did the All Day Dining and I highly recommend it. I can't say that it is a huge money saver or anything like that, but it is so convenient. I probably could have come out even, or even less by eating at our rental house and then just grabbing some counter service. But with a family our size and/or with younger kids it was so great to just have them go through a line, SEE something, and move along. As opposed to reading menus, tryinig to decide if they will really eat the chicken tenders here, etc.

Okay -so I just realized that while I thought I was making it easier for myself just to put all the photos in and then do the text, I have made it hard for me to tell which pictures goes where....

Day one we ate breakfast at SeaFire Inn (food pictures later b/c we actually ate breakfast there on day two, as well). We then headed straight toward Antarctica. We loved that area. My eldest son is wild about penguins and it did not disappoint.
After that we did the tower in the sky. That was my only disappointment. My mom wanted to do, but the line moved SO slowly. Some of the family went to the animal tricks show but my DD8 and I missed it... she had to go to the bathroom and they were serious about closing the doors on time. Ouch.

The park was pretty quiet and we walked onto rides for the first half of the day.

We bought the All-Day-Dining deal and each got a wristband. This allowed us to eat in any of 8 restaurants as often as we wanted. Each trip through the line we could have one entrée, one drink, and one side. A side can be a dessert, a bowl of fruit, a muffin the size of your head. Seriously, I’m kicking myself for not taking more pictures of our meals. Mealtime is a bit busy for us, though.

Antarctica is one of their newer areas. They have a sweet ride where you follow a baby penguin named Puck.

At the end of the ride you get out of your little car thingy and see a bazillion penguins. It is 32 degrees in this huge room.

After our Polar Vortex this winter this chilly room was nothing.

Do you see how close we could get? The rule is don’t touch or try to feed. It seems to work and I loved being that close.

I encouraged our group to move purposefully toward the Shamu stadium to catch the whale show. It was marvelous. Kids got soaked.

We then visited the Wild ARCTIC zone.

Longest winter in the history of the world and we hang out it polar regions. Go figure.

We watched a fantastic dance/acrobat show. It was seriously awesome. Hard to take photos of fast moving acrobats in the dark…

Lots of aquariums.

Manta was the Best ride ever. As a friend described it, it is ELEGANT.

I’m good for about one crazy roller coaster a day. I’m glad I picked this one.

Some food pics.
I have to say these three desserts looked magnificent. I only give the chocolate cake and the cheesecake a 6 out of ten. The carrot cake gets a 7. But - they were so much fun to buy b/c they were on our dining plan. I'd have been UNhappy if I paid out of pocket for them, though.

these pics are from our second day there. A Thursday. There were a LOT of school groups there that day. That was NOT a lot of fun. And we had some rain to contend with. We did enjoy ourselves, but I was so glad we'd had a more productive day the first day.

These are from breakfast. The muffins were very good. The Danish was no Panera Bread danish KWIM? But - they were huge and that was fun. They also offered bowls of strawberries which were delicious.

Okay - my computer time is up for now. I hope to post more pictures someday soon... Have to get the kids to bed.

Please ask questions if you have any. I was so blessed by all the help I got here (especially from Gina) - I'd love to pay it forward if I can help out at all.

What a fabulous review........I absolutely loved all your photos!!!! Antarctica looks fantastic, and your pics have made me so excited to visit it (its new since our last SW trip).

So glad you and your family had such a good time :goodvibes .

Thanks for the pictures and review. It is very hard to find pictures of seaworld! We will be there next week. We got a good deal on a flight, so we booked that first and then decided what to do in Orlando. The SeaWorld/Aquatica kids free package with staying at a partner hotel was an amazing deal. We also chose to do Epcot one day and the Cirque show. I'm excited and nervous. I have a feeling it is going to be hot, humid, and crowded. We will have fun anyway!

Sounds like a fun time. Cant wait til we can get back. We havent been to Antartica yet and my ODS loves penguins too. Love your pics.

I promise the penguins don't disappoint. The ride is fun, not AMAZING. But it's fun.
The penguins are amazing. I was captivated honestly. It WAS cold. But so worth it.
I'd head there or Manta first if going in summer.

Also - the gift shop is great for penguin fans. We could have dropped big bucks. Just great souvenirs everywhere in SW.

Hope to post more pics later. I loved SW.

Okay - you make me want to share more pictures.

Our first day was Mother's Day. The second day was the following Thursday.

We had the "worst" seats in just about every show. I could tell they were the worst because they were the only ones left in the stadiums when we got there. The crowds weren't that bad overall so we didn't get to the shows until just before. I have to say that much like WDW I would really listen to them when they say be there 30 minutes early if it is peak season.

We Loved feeding the sting rays. I am SO glad we didn't miss doing that. Also in that side of the park is a very cool 3D turtle trek type 360 movie experience. I'm glad we did that, too. We almost missed that section.

WE liked Antarctica so much we did it the second day as well.

We somehow missed the underwater viewing the first day. Glad we did it the second day.

I have to say, both SW and BG have some of the best "kiddie" ride sections of any park in FL. And adults could enjoy them comfortably as well.

We didn't do much with dolphins here as we have had some very great up-close-and-personal experiences at Marineland in Niagara Falls. I also can't say much about the lone Beluga we saw in the Wild Arctic area as we had incredible experiences at Marineland in the past. We also didn't do breakfast with Shamu as we've had... "great up close experiences" you see where I am going.

As far as SW goes I would give the same advice I give to people who are doing the once-ever WDW trip. Go knowing you just can not do everything, but enjoy everything you do. :) SW was an excellent park. Yes, it is different that WDW, but never once did it feel less-than. It was stunning and we would love to do it again.

They did. He was a super nice guy, too. Same guy took the very first pic I posted. After he took one with their camera he took a few with ours on Mother's Day. Now that's something WDW doesn't offer.
I should have jumped in on this one, too, but didn't think about it.

Thanks for posting the review and the pictures. We are visiting in November and Antarctica looks so fun. I love penguins.:goodvibes

I am a seaworld lover, but just wanted to say Disney does use your camera to take pics. Every time we have gone, they will use their camera and your own. Just hand it to the photographer. We were just at Epcot this week and had family pics taken by the photographer w our camera. I don't think any park denies helping out. I'm one also that will offer to take a family pic for complete strangers. Got stuck taking some with 3 cameras the other day. I finally had to say I had to go!

Hi, I am loving your awesome pics and your trip report!!! Thanks so much for sharing. :) I loved the dessert pics too!

We are going to SW in August.

So there are areas that are very cool, which you can go to, to escape the heat and enjoy the scenery? I ask, because I don't do well in the heat, lol.

You have a beautiful family! What a wonderful time it looks like you all had. :)

What a great review! Share even more pics if you can. :)

Did you have front of the line passes (or whatever they are called at SW)? We are making our first trip to SW the week of Labor Day.....and trying to decide about purchasing the quick queue access. We opted to stay at a non-partner hotel so se will have to purchase it if we think it's worth it.

Any other shows or rides that are must dos? My kids will be 11 and 9 when we go.

Also, which seats at Shamu get wet?

I'm sorry I haven't checked back into this thread in a few days. There are entry of places to get cool. Shows are shaded and the acrobats are indoors. We opted to dine indoors as well. Meeting the Mantas is shaded and Turtle Trek is indoors, too. I also didn't mean to Sound negative about Belugas there. SeaWorld is a fantastic 5-star park. But near where I live is a smaller, but great Marineland and not only did we get to feed and pet Belugas for very little $ and got to hang around and watch them interact with is for no cost.

We did not have FOTL passes. But we were there in May.

Honestly, the only ride I wouldn't bother with again is the one that goes up in the air to see all around. Very slow line even on our quiet day.

Wow. Good to know.
SeaWorld photographer offered. He was sweet.

This was exactly the review I was looking for. One question - my boys are 9 & 12, and we are coming in Sept. They don't ride rides! Is there plenty to do otherwise?

And, did you find any discounted tickets and/or dining plan? My husband really wants to do either Univer. Studios or Is. of Adventure (1 day) and we want to do SeaWorld, but to do both for a family of 4 it's going to be $600+!!!! Way too expensive.

So, any tips to reduce that would be great! Thanks!

Have you checked Undercover Tourist?

SW does have lots of non-ride attractions. You could fill up one day with them. It's hard to catch all the shows with rides to begin with!

Great! We'll just catch all the shows! Yes, Undercover Tourist was not as cheap as ordering from the actual US or IoA sites.

I considered even staying one night at their affiliate resorts, but it turns out to be the same price anyway, and we have a vaca.pkg. in Kissimmee already paid for.

Thanks for the review!

How "wild" is the Empire of the Penguin ride? Rides with too much spinning and bumpiness make me ill, but I really want to do it!
