Hiya

We are going to book a cake for our daughter's birthday (7) at DLP. I have a few questions....

1. Do I call the number and just ask for a birthday cake or do I pick from sizes, flavours, decorations etc etc. (I do not want to make a hasty decision...I don't like those!!!)

2. Which restaurant do you recommend - we are planning to eat at Cafe Mickeys, Lucky Nugget, The Birthday Tea, Innoventions and Auberge do Cendrillon?

3. Any other cakey tips - please do not feel any information to be irrelevant - I am a true planning freak!!!!!

Thanks so much :wizard:

We had the birthday cake back in 2006 for my daughter's 4th birthday and we had it delivered to Cafe mickey for our dinner there on her birthday.

When we checked into the Newport Bay hotel we confirmed where we wanted the cake and at what time. There was no choice of cake type/style or size, one cake one price. although that may be different 3 years later.

We had prebooked and paid for the cake along with our orginal reservation for Disney.

If we stay onsite for DD's birthday trip, I'll phone in advance to add the birthday cake to our booking (its £15 payable in advance, compared to 22 euros if you pay whilst at the resort). As I understand it, when you check in at your hotel, you'll get a voucher/receipt for your cake, and you then arrange with the hotel where and when you want the cake to be served. My DD wants her birthday cake at Cafe Mickey :goodvibes .

You don't get a choice of cake/decoration etc.

If you are doing the birthday tea you get a cake anyhow dont you?

We had DDs cake at Cafe Mickey in November and where given the choice of chocolate or jam filling - it was a sponge cake with the filling and fondant icing on the top with a picture of characters

I had one bought for me as a surprise in Inventions last month by a Diser friend and it was totally different - a gorgeous chocolate gooey mousse like cake with fruit on

One thing to consider when you decide where to have it is
dessert is included anyhow at Auberge so will you want cake as well?

Lucky Nugget and Inventions are buffets so again dessert is there so will you want cake as well? (We did!!!!!)

Cafe Mickey - unless you have ordered the set meal you can have the cake as dessert - unless of course you want both

Hiya,

We're at DLPR for our DDs 4th birthday in May and I have a cake on order. I rang and ordered the cake on the usual booking line (also paid for the princess meal) and then rang the restaurant reservations to book a table at Auberge Cendrillon for her birthday and requested the cake for the meal (I had been given a reference number to quote). It was simple and no choice just a standard chocolate cake.

Kellie

My DD is in love with all the princesses so where to have the cake was no question for us.

Thanks guys.

Have got those booked and went for the cake at Cafe Mickey.

Is it just me or is booking dining v. stressful!!!!???

Glad that is done. Phew!

And I have just rung the Sequoia and asked for the birthday card and balloons to be left in the room for her.

First French I have spoken for years!!

How brave was I!!!!:bday:

Very commendable!! :goodvibes I'm afraid after the preliminary bonjour etc I have to resort to speaking in English, to my great shame. :guilty:

What a lovely surprise it will be for your DD. :goodvibes

Well thanks.

I wouldn't have even known about it all if it wasn't for you guys.

Will let you know how I get on!!

Thanks again.

Ooooh I like the idea of ordering card and balloons - how much does this cost? Is it a card from Disney - rather than you I mean?

Thanks, Kellie

Hi

I just read about this on the boards...its on one of my previous posts...I'll look it up!

I have never done this but trust my friends here that it works so I just rang the hotel and asked if it could be done!!! He said certainly and asked which character she liked best! I said it didn't matter.

They also asked me to call back three days before our trip to confirm....

There doesn't seem to be any charge at all (that is what the other posters told me!) I will let you know when I get back!
