I just found this out! Has my head been in a hole for all these years? I'm dragging DH to Morocco for sure. (Not that he has a problem seeing a bellydancer; he goes willingly to all the events here. lol)

Another question... is she/he from Morocco? Would they hire someone from the states... say me?? ;) I bellydance! I want to dance at Disney!! *shimmies*

I'm just amazed that I never knew this. As Homer says, "D'oh!"

I figured as much... besides, I don't have a body like she does! :D

Oh well... I can dream it. lol

Eeyore -- don't give up that dream!! Check out the times for the performances at Restaurant Marrakesh and schedule a meal (lunch or dinner) around that time. When the bellydancer performs, she quite often invites some guests to dance with her. I've watched kids & adults eagerly get up and join her at her invitation. Everyone applauds no matter how well the non-professionals perform. ;)

You may still have your dream. When you check-in ask if you can be seated near where the dancer performs. You might even ask your server to mention your "dream" to the dancer... it never hurts to put in a suggestion!

Best wishes for a magical experience!!

Thanks, Steve, for those great ideas! I am really looking forward to seeing the dancer perform. :D

What times does the bellydancer perform? My DDs would really enjoy this. We have never eaten here before so it would be a new adventure all around.
Thanks,
DJ

Eeyore74 -- Just had to laugh at your comment "as Homer says 'D'oh' "

My DH and I have reservations at Restaurant Marrakesh in late September.

Our little town in the panhandle (Tallahassee) may be small, but we do have a Middle Eastern restaurant which features belly dancing on the weekends. It's great fun! As Eeyore 1954 mentions, part of the fun of a belly dancer performance is getting folks from the audience to take part. If you feel the urge, go for it! :)

Doesn't she preform with the band in Morocco (Mo Rockin)? The dancer with Mo Rockin does bring people from the audience up to dance! Just try to stand up front and show her your stuff! She will include you!

westjones,

I don't know any exact times, but I know she performs during lunch and dinner, maybe evey 15 - 20 minutes or so (?). It was great fun and I'm sure your DD's would love it. The food is great, too.

Last yr we ate there for lunch and they always had someone on the floor(well maybe 5 min between). When we arrived a dancer was just finishing up. Then a muscian came out for about 15-20 min. Then a differnet dancer came out for 15-20 min. The a muscian came out again (A different one if I remember right)
