Last night my husband said the most beautiful thing to me. He said that all his fitness and weight loss goals center around our next Disney trip. YES!!!! I have successfully brought him over to the Disney-side!!!

Here's a tiny back story:
DH and I are both about 30-50 lbs overweight and jolly old couch potatoes. We also love good food. DH is a Type 1 diabetic so this will just not do. For the past year we've been trying to eat better and lose some weight. He's been fantastic! He's lost (and kept off) about 12 lbs and has been working out so his arms and shoulders are just now showing some drool-worthy muscle definition. I'm eating less and I'm in a community theater musical that has me dancing around 3x's a week but I don't work out like DH does. I lost 10 lbs. last summer/fall and kept it off but I have not made any more progress.

Well yesterday afternoon, after slugging around the house all day, DH pried me off the couch and took me for a walk around the neighborhood. As we were walking he told me that he works out because when we go back to Disney World he wants to be able to "run from one end of the parks to the other without a problem and look good at the water parks." Whoa!!!! :worship: If he had put working out in those terms before I would have been way more motivated! :rotfl: When we got home we both did some upper body strength training. Then we set out Disney body goals. Here they are:

DH: Weigh 195 and look hot at TL
Me: Weigh under 150 and have buff upper arms that look nice in a tank top

We've implemented a Sunday Evening Weigh In and will write down our weights each week to see how we're doing. We've put our goals and weights on the fridge. My arms are sore today but I feel motivated and so happy that DH is as excited for our next Disney trip as I am!

:thumbsup2

Nice that you guys are trying to improve your health to have more fun together!

Best of luck to you both!:flower3:

It is great that you have a common goal; my DH and I are more successful when we are working together.

Congrats on the weight that you have already lost and good luck meeting your goals!:thumbsup2

I love your goals! I, too, have been longing for "sleeveless shirt arms" and made some head-way this last few months. Conbined with Disney...great goal!

BTW, what show are you in?? Do do theatre here in Indy and love meeting fellow actors. :)

Thanks everyone!!

I'm currently in Willy Wonka. I'm playing Mrs. Gloop. I just finished Little Shop of Horrors and our next show is the Wizard of Oz. Good times! Are you in a show now?

So awesome! Glad that you're both on board and you'll feel awesome running around the parks! You get to the rides quicker ;)

If you need help or have questions I am here for ya! I have recently went through a huge weight loss myself. Down 25 pounds in 2 months:

I did it by eating clean, unprocessed foods, drinking Shakeology and working out with P90X. I was so motivated by my own weight loss I am now a coach for Beachbody, helping people reach their goals and loving it!

Keep it up!
