Especially for those of you that are first timers:
If your child's teacher gives you a supply list of things he/she will need for the classroom, you might want to buy 2 of everything on the list. I buy a plastic shoe box and put all the supplies in there. My ds has always needed to use the same supplies I bought for school for homework later on. He's not allowed to bring his school supplies home for homework. I don't have to stress about having exactly what he needs when homework starts coming home (sure, it's not too stressful to go buy a box of crayons, but he loves to have the exact same thing he has at school or he thinks he can't do his homework
