A back to school supply reminder

Especially for those of you that are first timers:

If your child's teacher gives you a supply list of things he/she will need for the classroom, you might want to buy 2 of everything on the list. I buy a plastic shoe box and put all the supplies in there. My ds has always needed to use the same supplies I bought for school for homework later on. He's not allowed to bring his school supplies home for homework. I don't have to stress about having exactly what he needs when homework starts coming home (sure, it's not too stressful to go buy a box of crayons, but he loves to have the exact same thing he has at school or he thinks he can't do his homework ).

Arghhh....my son's the same way!! I have a little 2 drawer file cabinet in the basement which I keep stocked up with oodles of extra school supplies. A few months after school starts, he seems to need to have everything replaced anyway, so it's good to get it on sale & just keep it home!

Our kids are assigned their next years teacher at the end of the school year. I wish they would also send home a supply list at the same time so that I knew what they needed when everything is on sale during the summer. I just have to hope for the best and wing it.

And along with Shannon's tip, you might want to buy extra crayons, pencils and markers. (while they are on sale) By mid-year the crayons are trashed, markers dried up and I'd love to know where all the pencils in the world end up?? This may only apply to the lower grades...maybe the older kids are not as hard on their stuff.

don't forget to stock up with extras for that WDW trip!!!!!
Much cheaper to buy the extra crayons, markers, etc., now and pull them out when you need quiet time stuff for the ride to the WORLD!

Pooh don't you know the pencil fairy comes and takes them away, kind of like the sock fairy-lol! I agree with other posters buy extras while they are on sale! I have 5 DCherubs in school and I am not sure what the fairy takes first-pencils or crayons! Aaahhhh the most wonderful time of the year.....back to school!
