Hubby did the setting up and taking down. The crib came in a very large box (when you are through it fits nicely on the top of the closet). The crib was in 4 pieces and a bottom if I remember correctly. It took about 15-20 minutes to set up. When we were all through we took it apart, packed it up and called bell services to take it down to store it. It was not hard at all. The crib is a nice sturdy wood crib. Like I said we have a special needs child who likes to shake and rock the crib. The crib did not move.
We got a PNP from the hotel POR and it was GROSS. It had some mold in it smelled like smoke. I didn't use it.
We got a crib from the dolphin when we stayed there and I hated it. It was metal and it sagged in the middle. DD kept rolling to the center because it was so saggy. In their defense my SIL got one from them and had no problem with it at all. She also used a PNP from one of the hotels on another occasion and it looked brand new. She used it for the baby to play in and the crib to sleep in. She also brought the PNP to the pool area for naps in the shade.
After reading this post I sound like I am a picky, picky person.I really am not BUT when it comes to the kids I like things to be CLEAN. The PNP and the bed rails and crib from the hotels were yucky. I just like knowing that I will not have any problem with ABBF. It makes the trip so much easier.
Good Luck. I guess you could try the PNP from the hotel and if it isnt good quality you could request a new one until you get a nice clean one.
Good Luck! I don't think you have to pay for the PNP at Disney do you? I know you do have to pay for the full sized crib but I thought the PNP were free???
Oh one other thing if you do use a PNP from the hotel make sure you have someone come and take it back. While we were there we saw people leave them in their rooms and they were put on the laundry carts. We saw one get left in the rain and I would hate for you to be charged for the damage.
