May 8th : Six of us gathered together to celebrate my folk's 50th anniversary. What a wonderful time we had. First night we did it up in style. We surprised everyone with staying in a 14th floor concierge suite. The view was fantastic. We were able to see the Electric Water Pageant at 10:00. My 5 yr old nephew loved it! The food at concierge was wonderful too. We ate at the Concourse Steakhouse... good food, but pricey. We enjoyed seeing the monorail and guessing which color would be next.

May 9 : The next morning we left the Contemporary and checked into the Poly to find that we had been upgraded from 2 concierge rooms to the big 2 floor suite in the Tonga building! Wow, was I surprised! We rode the mouse boats while they readied our room. Then we went off to AK. We saw the new dinorama midway. My husband won a very colorful stuffed dragon (very cute). My mom + nephew tried out the new Twirl ride. Said it was jerky, but they had fun. We ate at Flaming Tree Barbeque... that's a favorite of mine. We got great seats by a reflecting pool. That night we did the luau (we had mail ordered Hawaiian shirts from Hawaii so we all dressed alike) When they called out all the anniversary couples, my folks got a big round of applause at being married 50 years (I loved watching them get all that attention). The show was fantastic. The fire twirler was awesome! Back to the room... when we returned we found a single rose, champange and chocolates... Wow again!

May 10 : This was the special day. I had ordered Mickey + Minnie wedding hats through "the Pixies" and had them sent up to NJ where we live. Then I decorated them with my parent's names and dates on the ears, and sent them back down to the Poly concierge. I also bought favors and had a glass slipper from Crystal Arts. This too was sent ahead. We had made reservations at the Castle for lunch that day. Concierge made arrangements to bring these items to our table while we were there. One extra special surprise was that the Fairy Godmother lead the procession followed by 2 Coachmen who had the hats stacked up on trays! Boy, I had tears in my eyes, to see this dream come true. All the months of planning were worth it. My parents were shocked as were my sister and her son. The food was great. Everyone had a wonderful time. For dessert we had ordered a cake on which they had places the glass slipper! We all had matching shirts which I had made with a transfer of their original wedding day picture. They were stopped by so many people who gave them congratulations! We also went to MGM that evening. and did Fantasmic dining... Hollywood + Vine had great food (I think thay should be including drinks in the cost). Our seats were fantastic.

May 11th : Epcot. We got everyone fastpasses for Test Track while they visited Spaceship Earth. The flowers were especially beautiful this year... much more color than previous years. It's like they turned back the clock to the way things used to be... lots + lots of flowers. We ate fish + chips in England (from the stand) and had great seats by the water. The heat was very strong and we cut our time short to go back to the pool for swimming. Back to the room... Housekeeping had made a Happy 50th out of towels on my folk's bed, and also made 2 swans on the livingroom floor! Dinner that night was at O'Hanahs I found it to be just okay. Our waiter just didn't have it together, but we were all together as a family. MK that night was CROWDED... so much that we came in the park, rode 1 ride and turned around and left. I have never seen MK that crowded... not only along the parade route, but also for the rides. But, all was not lost. We went back to the Poly and watched the fireworks from the beach... great, and no crowds! Even saw Tinkerbell.

May 12: Mothers Day... All the ladies were given carnations... a special touch. This was our last day, so we quickly packed. My nephew saw the Character Caravan (I still want EE back!!!) and rushed to MK. It was much less crowed than the night before and we got to go on many rides. We ate at t he columbia House. This was our 1st time eating there. The food was good. I ahd the tuna sandwich, others had the fish + chicken combo, and my nephew had his usual mac + cheese!

The time passed too quickly, but the trip was truly magical!
