A 3 Week Long Adventure - 478 Days in the making

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to our first ever PTR! I have lurked on the boards for the last 18 months or so and have decided to join the party! I am obsessed with other peoples PTR/TR's so I figured I would start my own!

We are spending not 1 week, not 2 weeks but 3 glorious weeks on vacation!! Our dates are May 9th-May 30!!


A little about us the "cast" of this Pre Trippie

Me: I'm 22, an animal science student and a total Disney addict! This will be my first trip as an adult, the last being when i was a preteen, and then have only been to MK!! My favorite characters include Cinderella, Tinkerbell and Minnie! I am the planner for this trip and may be a little bit too excited!!

Peter My soulmate : Peter is 24, Works full time overnights and treats me like a Princess! When not working he really likes to play video games and just relax. Peter has NEVER been to Disney! EVER!! He has been to FL, went to Universal but not Disney- he was 8 or 9 at the time!! Before we started dating he had only seen a handful of Disney movies! He is not overly excited for this trip and pretty much only going because he loves me. I hope he gets the Disney bug this trip

Supporting Characters:
Some of my family members will be joining us for part of the trip -
My Aunt Kelly her Husband Steve, and their daughter Chloe (Will be 3!). Steve's mom Barbra will also be making an appearance. They are all Disney veterans


We started ( By WE I mean myself) Starting Planing this 478 Days out!! And now we are 3 months away!! 90 Days!!

That's Right Peter and I will be Driving from Bangor, Maine to Orlando Florida! That means a stop on the way, as it is a 26 hour drive! (According to Google)

While most think we are crazy, we have a brand new (2011) car, that gets 46mpg hwy. So it was actually cheaper to drive then to Fly and get a rental car! who knew?

Right now our plan is to leave on the night of May 8th/wee hours of the 9th. We are still working out which routes to take, but we think we will make it to Virgina (14 hour dirve) the first day!

We are stay off site this trip, as financially it was cheaper (Free) for us to do so.

The First part of our trip, May 10-19th we will be staying with my aunt and her family at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas (near DTD)

The Second Part of our trip May 19th to the 28th We are staying at Days Inn (near wet and wild) on International Drive (yes not a great place, but good location and VERY inexpensive!)

Good Evening! As promised here is our travel itinerary or as I call it "Kayla's Powerful and Mighty Plan Of Destiny!" (PART 1)

I will to keep things short and sweet - but I am very detailed and tend to ramble!


May 9th- First Travel Day!
We will be up and heading out in the wee hours of the morning! We will have to stop after just two hours to drop this guy off at his Nana's (Peters mom) for a sleep over!

It's the first time hes not going on vacation with us

May 10th - Arrival Day!
We should arrive in Orlando around 6-8pm Depending on where we stopped the night before!!
We plan on just relaxing and unpacking - maybe ordering some pizza, but just hanging out with family. We will meet Kelly, Steve and Chloe at the airport or resort depending on when they get in.

May 11th - Kelly's Bithday!
We have no plans - whatever Kel feels like really.

May 12th - First Park Day! (HS)
Rope Drop!
We want to make it to ToT, TSM and RnR and of course Fantasmic!
We plan leaving around 1 or 2 for lunch and a break at the resort and being back by 5pm
Barbra arrives Today


May 13th - Sea World!
This is the only Non Disney park that we are going to, but i love this park. Its so manageable and relaxing!

May 14th - Nahtazu !
Yes, ANIMAL KINGDOM!!! I am SO excited for AK, I have never been but animals are kinda my thing
We plan a full day at the park, with lunch at rainforest cafe.

May 15th - Magic Kingdom!
Rope Drop!
Peter and I have lunch ressies at Whispering Canyon Canyon Cafe at 1 and hope to make it back for the parade at 3 to meet back up with family.

May 16th - Magic Kingdom Part II!
We have at 10:15 ressie for Chef Mickeys for breakfast then will head over to the park.

May 17th - RELAX!
No plans besides resting, pool time, sleeping in!

May 18th - Animal Kingdom!
Rope Drop to Close, thinking QS for Lunch
Dinner at the villa with the fam.

May 19th - We're on our own!
Kelly and her family will fly back to Maine. While I am sad they couldn't stay, I am also excited for some alone time with Peter
Today we will head over to DTD for lunch (trex maybe) and shopping before we check into our hotel on I Drive.
We will settle in to our new diggs and check out some I Drive tourist traps


So concludes PART 1! I have some papers for school to write tonight, but if I feel up to it I will post PART 2 tonight

Just wanted to share a fun update
I have exciting news! Yesterday evening I brought home a new family member! My Texel Guinea Pig Izzy (Isobel) realllly needed a friend, and the rescue I foster for had the perfect match! First of all Here is Izzy ( I know she has no hay, I had just changed the cage bedding don't worry!)

Meet Abigail aka. Abby! (an Abyssinian)

They became fast Friends!

May 21st – Epcot (Future World) Me and Peter's "anniversary"! (its in April but we will be celebrating in may. 5 year together!
Make it to rope drop today!
Soaring Fast Pass ASAP
Head to the Monorail to go to Polynesian at 7:30pm
Diner Reservation at O’hana @ 8:20pm
Watch Wishes from the beach after Dinner

May 22nd – Magic Kingdom!
Eat Breakfast at hotel / On the Way
Make Rope Drop
Lunch Ressie at Tony’s @ 2:35
Share QS for Dinner , Share snack ETC.

May 23rd— Hollywood Studios
Rope Drop -
Fantasmic!

May 24th— Off – RELAX!

May 25th— Revisit Favorite Park

May 26th— Relax!

May 27th— Sleep in Relax and pack up

Welcome!! How exciting to be going again! My DBF says we can plan a trip every 2 years to Disney, which will be good- in two years I should be graduated and hopefully working on my masters!

In 2 years DBF & I should both be graduated as well! He is going to work on his masters too. I told him when we have real jobs we should go once a year!
He really wants to go on a Disney Cruise at some point.

I'm Back! I didn't fall of the face of the world! I have been so busy hand raising four 2week out girl ratties! They have started in solids so i have a bit more time! But let me keep this Disney oriented!

We have received our AAA triptik today So we have a route, maps and tour guides! for FREE!! YAY!

So Stay tuned! i have a couple updates planned! should be up by end of next week!
