A 12 year olds views on Chef Mickeys

The last 2 times we went there for dinner, it was definitely a miss.
Parmesan taters everybody raves about I thought was so yucky and runny.
The rest of the food is just OK. Nothing to get excited about. Even the prime rib was dry...
Dessert however was great.

We'll be having our 5th dinner at Chef Mickey's in a couple of weeks. This is the place that set the mood for our first trip (and convinced DH that it wasn't our once in a lifetime trip) and has become our first night tradition. DD8 and DS12 both still love it, DH really likes it too for that matter. Me, I think it's ok, maybe not the best food on property, but it's alright, and we've always had great character interaction here. But, I do agree that being seated in that back room takes a lot of the fun out of the experience.

These character breakfasts are shaky. What you are really paying for is the autograph sessions with the different characters while you eat, just like the spirit of aloha or the hoop-de-do review. They mass produce the food to serve as many people as possible, but usually people are so wrapped up into getting pictures they dont even notice the taste. If your kids arent into getting autographs or pictures then there are alot of good sit down breakfast places in resorts and at the parks.

Totally agree. We do 'Ohana every trip for breakfast and every time I leave hungry. The food is not terrible. It's just not good enough to remember to eat with everything else going on with the characters.

Hi! princess:

We are booked at C.M.for breakfast, but now I'm wondering if I should change. How is 1900 P. at the GF? I hear that it is the best around. We have eaten at the Cape May for breakfast, and it was fab.

thanks! :) :)

IMHO 1900 is hands down the best (omelets made to order), Crystal Palace is a close second, with the advantage of being inside the park! You can make Priority Seating res. before park opening and be inside the park already when it opens! :)

We're hitting Chef Mickey's for dinner on our last full night at WDW.

Even though I would love to be served, the buffet will offer more food items for my group to choose from. Plus, see some characters. DS10 just started getting into characters last September.

But, I did book an ADR for 1900 Park Fair for breakfast mid week. After hearing Mary Poppins is there (somewhere).

We will be going for the first time on our next trip for breakfast. If we like Golden Coral breakfast, will we like this? We are really going more for the fun of it and are not expecting a whole lot.
