A 10-year-old Cant Have a Mommy?!

I would be having a talk with that teacher and the principal.

My 22 year old still calls me Momma and he's 6'6!!:o :jester:

I would definetly be talking to your DD's teacher.

The teacher was out of line. My husband is a teacher and we are huge supporters of teachers, but there are "bad apples" in every bunch. She had no right saying anything to your child. Do what you think you have to do. BTW, that teacher would have problems with my kids. They call me Mim! There isn't a right or wrong name for parents. Everyone should be able to call them what feels right to them.

I think the teacher was way out of line! You should talk to the principal and then have a meeting set up for yourself, the teacher and the principal to discuss the matter. Things seem to get resolved better when all parties are present at the same time.

Also ~ my mother who is in her 50's along with all her older half-sisters called their father "daddy" until the day he passed away 2 years ago. (they are all from various parts of PA) There is nothing wrong with a person calling their parents/care givers anything they want. Location should have nothing to do with it. It's a personal choice and it should be left at just that.

Dixie Luvr 98 ~ Good Luck and I hope you get things worked out and resolved.:)

Thanks again everyone.

I have been assured that the incident should have never happened and won't happen again.

DD is such a naturally positive kid that she is back to her old cheerful self. She says that since even her older brothers are being nice to her, she must not have done anything too stupid;)
