A 10 day stay -- is it relaxing or too long?

We did 10 days once and the 3 ds were asking when we were going home because they missed their friends. Geez!! Now we do about 8 but they are well planned and we do all the parks, water parks etc. Its also about all we can afford now in the budget while still staying on site, eating where we want etc. Any disney day is a :D day!!

We also stayed 10 days last year and my kids (6 and 4 at that time) and I were ready to come home!! I guess we were getting bored with Universal/Disney. I know there's lots to see and do, but kids at this age, they can only take so much, even if you include the down time. I guess they just miss home and their friends in school. We thought it was a bit too long of a stay. We do better doing 7 days.

Now we can do 2 nights at a time every month!! We'll only be 15 minutes away from Disney!! I'm sure this time I can try all the resort and not worry too much about the money cause we don't have to fly.

I think 10 days sounds heavenly. I gently announced to my DH that since we are getting APs this year that we might be able to plan a slghtly longer trip next May ( usually 7 days...so hoping for 10 ) and he didn't pull out the shocked look ...so I'm hopeful!!!

I think 10 days will give you time to see what you want and time to relax when you want. Have fun!

We have spent 16 days there, and although it was enough for my children(DS6, DS13, DD 16) it wasn't enough for me! Next month we will be there for 11 days, and can't wait! The longer trips give you enough time to enjoy the hotel, pools, water parks, boating, mini golfing, tours, shows, and things you just don't have time for when you only stay for a short time. You can park hop to avoid crowds, swim when people are at the parks, and relax! You will have a great time, and I recommend longer than a week for anyone who can do it!

We usually go for 14 days and spend 2-3 doing activities outside Disney. I always end up being sad the day before I leave I guess I just can't get enough Disney.

Hope you have a wonderful time, we aren't going again till august of 2005 (I'm so envious of all you guys who are going this year).

I alway think when I read the remarks in different post "I only use the room to sleep" They are missing half the fun, you need time to relaxe and enjoy the Resort your staying in. Do the small tihings, when your not worried about how long the lines at the parks will be once you arrive there. My goal is two weeks, longest stay so far 11 days...but I do go often.

We were there for 9 nights last summer and while I wasn't crazy about leaving, I wasn't all that unhappy. Of course that could be because I knew I was coming back again. After 4 trips we don't 'sense the urgency' anymore. We love going for longer trips. That way we treat the resort we are staying in as a 'resort' and not just a place to sleep after going to the parks all day.

The one thing we've learned is to slow down and enjoy the resorts. OTOH, we are lucky enough to be able to visit a few times a year (our APs contribute to this).

We go to WDW three or four times a year and stay six or seven nights each time and are considering changing to two trips of ten nights each. That plan would end up with fewer days at WDW, but we think we might come home less exhausted. Has anyone else tried this?

Each visit to WDW gets longer and longer and we dream of a time when we can stay weeks and weeks at a time. First it was 4 days, then 6, then 8, and this time 10. 10 still doesn't seem like enough but we will enjoy every moment. So much to see and do. 10 days is alot of fun and memories for you and your family.

My fiancee and I ALWAYS stay for 9 nights/10 days. We think it's just the right combination of time/money for us at this point in our lives....any less time and we tend to feel rushed. Of course, we'd stay for longer if we could afford it, but we can't, lol! In my dream world, I'd like to stay for 2 weeks, twice a year :) But for now, I settle for my yearly 10 day trip :)

Relaxing!
We spent 10 days in WDW in December and it was great. On the 9th day when we called home my father asked if I was ready to come home yet, and surprisingly I wasnt! ;) We got so much done, even some of the little things we never do but always say we should. We got to try new restuarants, new rides, and other stuff(mini golf, surrey bikes).

Camcolt,

We are also going in December (actually 11-28-04 thru 12-05-04), and I was thinking of extending our stay from 7 nights to perhaps 8 or 9 nights, maybe 10!

With the dates stated, do you think an extended stay will be as much fun when we are not in the dead of summer seeking to spend alot of time at the pool/water parks. I know most of the parks also close early. Will we be bored?

I have never stayed more than 7 nights, but the idea is appealing to me. We will be on an empty nester 25th wedding anniversary trip.

Thanks,

Pat

Gosh....if I could stay for 10 days, and had the money, I'd grab it in a heartbeat....between being able to leisurely enjoy the parks, I would take some time to see some of the surrounding areas...we've never gone to the beaches or the space center....

My DS and I just got back from a 4-day trip....that was good for a quick fix, but really so rushed that it wasn't a "vacation"....

Take a couple of good books, relax, and enjoy!! I'm envious!!!

Hi - We stayed 10 nights last year and we still didn't get everything done. We go during value season in December so the parks are not open as long. Pluse my DH always plays about 4 rounds of golf so that takes up time too. We do not do parks commando style so it is great to be able to relax and go back to do our favorite rides a second time.

Everyone here has been so helpful. It sounds like I might...just might...have the chance to relax even just a little :) Of course I say this now, but we all know what happens when we're there:earsboy:
