I wasn't sure where to place this but since I don't believe this is a debate I thought this board was a good place for it.

To any of you that are going to this event on Oct. 30, I was wondering how you feel about there only being easy transportaion out of MK to monorail resorts. It is written that if you are not staying at a monorail resort you need to take a monorail to the TTC then a bus to Downtown Disney and THEN a bus to your resort OR you're more than welcome to take a cab back to your resort. I just don't see the fairness with this.
I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind not running other resort buses that night. I understand transportation is not included in the expensive attraction admission but I just feel like saying "give me a break!" I think If Disney is putting together this activity on their own accord they should make it fair for all the resort guests.

For me, it's not a problem because I am driving to the event.

However, if I was flying to Orlando and did not have a rental car I would probably be annoyed. I don't understand why they can't run a few buses that go to multiple resorts. That's what they did at the AK AP event they had back in May.

I guess your only recourse is to complain to WDW Event Services. Maybe if enough people complain about it, they'll do something. I kind of doubt it, though.:(

I'm surprised the busses won't be running but just think of the exclusive you'll be going to!!! At least you know ahead of time to plan ;)

I understand how you feel. Perhaps if they were able to find out where everyone was staying, they might be able to do that. I know what a pain the bus system can be, especially that late at night. I am staying with a friend, and either I will rent a car for the day, or she will have to come pick me up at midnight!

I am very excited about the event though!

We always rent a car, but had read (somewhere) that there would not be any transportation available well before I ever signed up. I personnally don't see why they can't have a bus like they have for the hoop dee do that takes a group back to the resorts after the event. They even have breakfast buses that take folks to the character breakfasts before the park buses start running. But, as I say, this was known before signing up for the event, so I guest Disney can say that people were fore-warned that transportation was not available. On another note. Let me tell you about transportation at the AK Event. My friends were staying at the AKL (one of the recommended resorts for the event). They stayed to the end of the event and watched the fireworks. When they got to the bus stop they were told by a CM that there were NO MORE BUSES. OK, there are about 20 of them needing to go to the AKL. So they told the CM that they were going to WALK. He said "go ahead." So, they started walking and he quickly changed his mind and said they aren't allow to walk on Disney property at night. He wanted them, now remember AK to the AKL, to take a bus from AK all the way to DTD, then wait for the AKL bus from DTD to take them to the AKL. They said NO! He radioed for a bus and a bus arrived and took them straight to the AKL. Looks like your only option is to walk to the contemporary and catch the DTD bus, then catch your resort bus from DTD.

stay at the Contemp for the super "WONDERFUL" price of only 220 bucks, or some such rate! Of course there is a special gift for each "haunt's" room....
I passed on the offer...

Sorry not exactly what you are asking about, just needed to vent a little. After while joining disney dining last Sept, had to use in-laws address due to moving. Mother-in-law never mentioned anything she received from them except our orginal membership info. My husband was over for a visit last month to find out she had been receiving misc items from them and never said a word, including the invitation to 999 happy haunts ball. Scheduled vacation this year for labor day as usually to find out after sold out we had an invitation. Would have resceduled vacation, always drive so transportation would have never been any problem. I just wonder how many other special inviations I missed out on.

I just read on another thread, confirming that event services will have buses running to DTD from the TTC, and at DTD you could get a bus to your resort. This was as last week. The thread also mentioned that the manager the poster spoke to was going to speak to the transportation department to see if something else could be arranged.
