Does anyone have a guess whether Disney will offer the $99 5 day ticket sale again for 2010?

Thanks!!!

Wouldn't that be awesome if they did! but, I have not heard anything...I believe it was around March of this year when it was announced!

It was in January because we got it when we went in Feb. I dont think even ITT/ITR knows yet.

yep.. last year they announced it the week that it started... I remember, because I was so mad, we were down there already, had just purchased our tickets for the week and then they announced that military would get free ones starting the next day:headache:

Yah - I hope so as well. Last January we started considering a quick trip Disneyland - and the next day the offer came out (very beginning of January). That was the deciding factor.

If they do offer it, and I am sure it'll be the same deal. We are going in March anyway - but that would be a super cool deal if they had those tickets again.

I don't think they will next year because last time they did this was 6 or 7 years ago, if there was a 7 year gap after the last deal is it really likely that they would do it 2 years in a row? for referance i believe 7 years ago it was a free water park and more 7 day hopper for hubby and you could buy any other type of disney ticket up to 5 for your party at half off plus 40% off hotels subject to avaiblity.

I am hopefull. We are planning on a trip in Aug so come one Disney:cheer2:

I'm hoping they have these deals too, with the economy the way it is, it would benefit them greatly to do this special again. Last time the economy wasn't tanking so bad, so who knows. If they do this again, mostly with the room deal, I'm gonna plan a trip for about 14 of my family members, I have younger twin brothers that turn 30 next year!!! So that'll be fun!!!

I have a question for the ones who have used the tickets. Once you get the tickets do thay check your Military ID card each time you use it? and can you add them to the room key if staying on property?:surfweb:

They checked it one time when we first got there and we had to check in the tickets. I don't know about the room key I never asked about that.

They cannot add them to your room key, you have to have them separate. It sucks, but how it is. Sorry!

Just got back, last month...

WDW staffers only check the ID card when the tickets are first issued -- otherwise, the tickets (plastic cards) are linked to the finger scan of the individual ticket holder.

As I stayed at SoG, I could not link them to the room key (and since this is a unique deal, I suspect you couldn't do so, anyway).

I hope they at least extend the hotel deals for next year. 40% was awesome and as AP holders we definitely took advantage of the hotel deals more than the tickets. It was nice to get discounts for the family though, so I'm still crossing my fingers!

I too would love to see this deal extended. We may not be able to go back next year but this deal would really help the budget!

:thanks::thanks:

You are correct! It was 7 years ago and has not been offered again prior to this year. It was offered during Dessert Storm. It's hard to say if they will offer it again anytime soon. One can hope though!

We leave in 7 days with our Military Salute tickets in hand! Ordered them from our local military base and rec'd them the next day! Unbelievable!

From one miltary family to another, thanks for your service! :thanks::thanks:[

Hoping for this one too! I think maybe with the push into Afghanistan, they might offer it again. My DH is deploying to Afghanistan next May, and he wants to take our kids to WDW for the first time during his 2 week leave prior to deploying. Unfortunately, that puts us RIGHT around Easter week. :( The military offer would REALLY help us out for that trip, as we need a DVC 1 bedroom villa type accommodation, due to our son's Autism. Don't think we could swing it at rack rate, though.

I doubt it will happen. I think its a mistake on Disney's part to not continue "something" each year for the millitry. Especialy when Bush Gardens and Sea world all have the one day free for millitary and family every year. I guess they figure they are in a league of their own~ Who knows:confused3

I agree with you, and not just because we're a military family. ;)

I think, the fact that Disney CONSTANTLY offers these random PIN codes, room only discounts for FL Residents, and room discounts for AP holders, they could easily include the military as well for room only discounts year round. I mean, most other major hotel chains offer a Military/Fed Gov't discount at certain times of year (INCLUDING Starwood, which operates the Swan/Dolphin). That should be enough of a reason for Disney to offer a military discount. The availability of Shades of Green, Swan, and Dolphin to COMPETE directly with Disney for potential on site hotel guests should make Disney compelled to offer something to lure those military guests AWAY from those other three resorts...

To be very honest with you, if Disney doesn't offer something that we can use next year, we will STRONGLY consider the S/D instead...
