with Disney's new rate hike, I just want to thank UO for the AP renewal rate and the discounts it gives us on top of that.

these one day ticket price increases are getting too damn ridiculous.

Yup...you gotta love that good old Disney "magic" huh?:rotfl2:

$71 for 1 day?!

We had a tough time scheduling our Florida vacation this year because of school and DHs work schedule. When we finally got our dates set and compared the costs ... we opted for a Universal trip this year and Disney next year. I've been to Disney every year since 2001 but with the costs going up, we may have to rethink Disney for next year too. It's looking more and more like Disney is getting to be out of our budget, or at least what I'm willing to pay for a week's vacation. :(

Well...the sad fact of the matter is...if Disney raised their rates, Sea World and Universal will most likely do the same...it's just a matter of when. Usually theme parks here raise prices in January so sometime between now and January expect to see ticket prices go up across the board. Why? Because no one wants to be considered a "second class" destination so basically, it's keeping up with the Jones'. :sad2:

at least UO and the others offer great AP rates and discounts, not to mention really Flextickets and nice multiday options.

Disney keeps jacking up the rates and doing nothing more than installing lame Pixar attractions. outside of the TOT and the Magic Kingdom, there's no 'magic' left for me at WDW anymore.

we were at an All-Stars recently for a night because we got a decent AP rate, it was no better than a Motel 6. scuffed doors and walls, faded paint...not exactly 'Disney'.

That's true...I stayed at the All Star Sports back in 1997 before moving here and it was basically a Best Western with Disney touches...small rooms and pretty pricey.

Hell...I won't even eat at Disney since they don't offer park discounts!

We’d still go to Disney once in a while, but I am looking forward to going to Universal and their resorts for a change. FL resident’s rates for resorts are fantabulous and make it very inexpensive to stay onsite; in addition, 2-year AP for the price of one year is great. We’ve gone exclusively to WDW for the past 4 years, sometimes several times a month, so we definitely got a good use out of WDW AP, but it was paid by my company as a perk for a couple of years – I am certainly not paying 722$ for an annual pass for one (!) year out of my own pocket!!!!!

We still have 4-days 4-parks hopper with no expiration, so we’ll still go to WDW, but Universal does seem to be a better deal currently (at least from the financial standpoint, I still like both parks and think it’s silly to compare one to the other).
