.............

My little sister had this surgury a couple years ago. I don't remember too much of the details, but she did heal pretty quickly. She was in pain for about a week, like your doctor said, but after that she was fine. I just remember her complaining that she wanted pizza before she was able to eat it, so my mom offered to put it in the blender for her! Ewww!

My DD had her tonsils and adenoids out but not laser. She had them out on a Friday and by Wednesday was fine. He was starving right after her surgery and it was hard to fill her up on soft foods. We finally gave her mashed potatoes and that worked.

I had my tonsils removed at the ripe old age of 30, they used the laser and I only had a couple of hours of pain. Now of course I was an adult but removing the tonsils of an adult is supposed to be a lot harder on said adult than it is on kids. Hope your granddaughter's surgery goes smoothly and she doesn't have a lot of pain afterwards. :grouphug:

My 9 year old has his tonsils and adenoids out this way in August. The procedure was quick and recovery wasn't too bad. He did have a sore throat for quite a while---2 weeks total--just what the doctor told us to expect. It wasn't so bad that he needed codeine, though. Just lots of Tylenol and TLC. Hope all goes smoothly! :goodvibes
