..

One day a man walked into a bar..... ;)

Sorry you are having a rough time, like everything else all you can do is take it one day at a time. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Aww, C.Ann, I don't have anything funny to say but I do want to say I'm sorry.

We went to my mom's last Sunday to help her put up her tree and when she pulled one certain ornament out, the same thing happened to her. She tried not to let us see, but I could tell. Hugs to you.

My hubby's friend had on a shirt today that said...I am the man from Nantucket. I thought that was kinda funny lol. Hope it got at least a chuckle from ya. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry. This time of year is hard. I have found that it's best to just cry it out. It's usually when I'm alone in my car or in the shower - because, like you, I don't want anyone to get upset at me being upset. But, it's perfectly normal and even good to go off and have a good cry for yourself.

You never know when that moment is going to hit you, big hugs C. Ann........to this day, my youngest cannot talk about her grandmother dying and gets all upset if we go to the cemetary....I finally said to her you have her in your heart.......and by talking about her, we keep her alive in our thoughts and we all miss her. Holidays are the worst...I am thinking of you...stay strong, you will get through it.

Aww, C.Ann, we all know this is going to be a rough Christmas this year, and don't feel like you have to hold yourself together for anyone's sake.

Our church is doing a "blue Christmas" service next Sunday, for the first time, specifically for people whose lives are in a transition, i.e. lost loved ones in the last year, those looking for work, etc. Maybe a church near you has something similar?

Come on over to the DIS any time you need someone to lean on - we're always here for you!

{{{HUGS}}}. Christmas is a tough time when you have lost someone you love. I'm glad you have a place where you can go and be alone when you feel the need to cry.

It's going to be alright. It's just going to be a little tough at first.

Awww... :grouphug: I hope you feel better soon, Ann.

Sometimes that happens to me too. At work, we have a small radio on a shelf above where my prep area is and right now, it's set to a local Christian radio station that plays nothing but Christmas songs. Well, 3 times that day they played "The Christmas Shoes" and by the time my lunch rolled around, it was on for a 4th time that day. I tried to hold back, but about half into the second verse I was bawling my eyes out.

I also start to get misty when they play "Silver Bells". It was my grandmother's favorite Christmas song and it reminds me of her. Sometimes I'll be driving in the car and it'll come on and I have to pull over because I start to cry and shake. I miss her so much this time of year.

Been there too. Those times sneak up behind you and smack ya' in the back of the head. It gets easier. You have us to lean on!!

Someone say something funny...please! Pop Daddy - where are you with your one-line zingers??? :confused3

This thread is always good for a laugh:

It may make you cry too, but thinking of a good "fart" story from your own past will give you a heart warming chuckle as well. Here's the scene from Good Will Hunting with Robin Williams as Sean and and Matt Damon as Will:

Sean: Maybe you're perfect right now. Maybe you don't want to ruin that. I think that's a super philosophy, Will. That way you can go through your entire life without ever having to really know anybody.

My wife used to fart when she was nervous. She had all sorts of wonderful idiosyncrasies. You know what? She used to fart in her sleep. Sorry I shared that with you. One night it was so loud it woke the dog up. She woke up and gone like "oh was that you?" I'd say yeah...I didn't have the heart to tell her...Oh God...[laughing]

Will: She woke herself up?

Sean: Yesssss. Oh Christ....aahhh, but, Will, she's been dead two years and that's the s*** I remember. Wonderful stuff, you know, little things like that. Ah, but, those are the things I miss the most. The little idiosyncrasies that only I knew about. That's what made her my wife. Oh, and she had the goods on me, too, she knew all my little peccadillos. People call these things imperfections, but they're not, aw, that's the good stuff. And then we get to choose who we let in to our weird little worlds. You're not perfect, sport. And let me save you the suspense. This girl you met, she isn't perfect either. But the question is: whether or not you're perfect for each other. That's the whole deal. That's what intimacy is all about. Now you can know everything in the world, sport, but the only way you're findin' out that one is by givin' it a shot.

Chereya :)
