I guess my question is how will you get around the fact that Disney will cancel the room reservation if there's no one staying there? And if they cancel your reservation, then your KTTW cards will go dead along with all your dining credits. :confused3

I agree with PP, it would be a lot simpler (and probably cheaper) to get one AP and buy a TIW card for dining. Stay offsite (with free parking from the AP) and not worry about the AS room.

That's the thing I was wondering, if it's quite obvious the room is unoccupied, will Disney cancel the reservation along with the dining credits?

Why are people being mean and taking offense, I never bashed anyone or told anyone how to vacation, I better re read my own post.

OP, I commented on your post and I am not a :stir: type poster by any means. I have stayed Deluxe (even Poly CL) regularly for years by choice except for once, POR. We love the Deluxe resorts and our family vacations are most fun staying at them. We don't struggle to pay our vacations but love to save money (we do think of college tuition and retirement). That is why we are choosing to add the YES tickets to our future Deluxe stays. Your vacation solution sounds great. I hope it works out well for you. I am sure your post was made because you were happy that you worked something out that your family could enjoy! Have a great trip!

I guess some people don't get around much, we just stayed in the tiniest room that should be legal for human occupation for over $300/nt. in VA Beach. Talk about a complete ripoff.

Next trip try Francis Scott Key Resort. My kids LOVED it 2nd only to WDW. Close to VA beach. Great pools. Rooms are not huge but last summer I got one night free if we stayed Sunday-Thur. They include free games, free movies, free fishing pond, outdoor games all FREE. Very family friendly rooms and cabins. Our maid created towel animals every day:goodvibes Its an old 50's style motel complex converted to a "resort" http://fskfamily.com/

OP I love fule perks for WDW trips! If this is what works best for your family go for it. We have always stayed delux w 40pect room discount. The best I've seen lately is 35pct. We dont mind sharing our MKR view at Poly with our 3 kids for the delux perks but thats us.

I agree, I didn't read anything that should have offended anyone:confused3 I don't get it either.
You didn't see the post from the other person stating that she felt sorry that people were getting "ripped off"? Or her post in all capital letters?

That's who I was responding to, I wasn't offended by the OPs post, just felt badly about the poor writing.:rotfl2:

Everything is paid for...we did it last year 12 days never an issue. How do they know we are not just super neat and perhaps we bring our own towels and make our own beds? Lol

I hear you now, as for you not liking text speak, don't read any of my posts this way u won't have to get annoyed by me, okay? Sorry I assumed u were typing to me. P.s. I'm on my IPad, that is why I am text speaking. If I were typing, I would not, I the like the wind except on the IPad. I see ur points! I loved the poly view too but just won't pay that any more, poly needs a make over big time!!! GF can use some updating too!

OP, I do agree that Poly could use updating. I think they are working on it though.

I'm not sure I'd want to stay in GF, looks a little too frou frou for me.

Actually they can and will cancel if the room is unoccupied. If there is nothing in the room and the room has not been unlocked or accessed for days, they WILL cancel. And you will probably be out the money for the room and the cost of your dining credits.

Too bad you didnt have a friend who could use the room so you could spread the pixie dust. These things can get complicated though.

Typing on an iPad or iPhone can suck..I hate auto- correct because it always throws in words that aren't even close to what I wanted to type. :rotfl2:

OOOPS!

Last year we stayed at Ocean City MD not VA beach...Major brain hiccup. Great boardwalk beach and quiet state beach with wild ponies in MD so we went there instead...sorry:blush:

Disney is not the only place you see what many will consider rediculous rates. Hotel rooms get inflated prices all the time based on location. I don't go to NYC and expect to pay the same prices for a 5-star hotels in times square as I would for a 5 star in Pittsburgh. Even in the same location prices vary rediculous. For example some people will pay 10 times more to stay in hotel on beach then to rent a beach house 4 miles from the beach. Obviously people are willing to pay those rates or they would not be able to charge those rates.

Folks, let's keep it civil, please. No need to be sniping at each other.

Look into renting DVC points OP. You can stay deluxe without breaking the bank. :thumbsup2

Wow... That's a lot of money to spend. There probably was some kind of room only discount and you could have added the dining plan. Or stay at the Swan and Dolphin and just pay for food. I just looked and with the 30% off discount Beach Club rooms aren't too horrible, $275/night or so. IDK Disney hotels are expensive, especially for 13 days though.

I think as long as they visit their room during a mid-break every day, I don't think Disney will cancel the reservation. I don't think it's mandatory to sleep in that room overnight. It's whatever works for them.. go for it! :)

I agree!! you paid for your freakin vacation pkg! why would disney care if youre not using your room? or your dining credits either!? honestly! you really think they have guards sitting outside of every room monitoring which ones are not being used? They already took your money. You paid for it. You can do whatever you please even if it means only stopping by the resort once the entire week.

As for text speaking and all caps, if you dont like it then DONT READ IT. Very simple! OP, i think ur idea is brilliant. And i agree, $9000-11000 is absolutely hilarious! Lol. enjoy ur vacay!
