90 day advance tee time question - UPDATE 11/11/2009

I am at my 90 day mark for my trip - wanted to start making tee times (using DVC Golf Membership which I have from a previous trip) but the online system (and the system the Master Starter uses) don't appear correct. I can pick my 90 day date but no tee times are loaded in! In fact, they don't appear to be loaded for more than 75-80 days out.

Other than the Master Starter - who had the same problem as I did online - any one I can call to let them know the system is not working? I did try and send an email - but realize that goes into a huge bucket of other emails and probably won't get answered for a week or so, if at all.

UPDATE 11/11/2009: WDW has updated their online system - it is allowing 90 day tee time reservations for the first part of 2010. I know our DVC contract states 14 days during late Jan - Apr but the online system states 90 days and is allowing 90 day tee times to be made - at the reduced DVC price!

I have run into this before as well, although its usually just been a day or two off. I would probably call the master starter and see if their system has anything. It possibly wont as like you say its pretty much the same system, but at least it may bring it to someone's attention faster than an email...

If you are trying to make DVC discount tee times then you do not have a 90 day window. Mid or late-Jan (start date changes annually) through most of April is prime season and DVC members with the discount card have only a 14 day advance tee time window for tee times during that season.

What about this? We are new to DVC and I plan on purchasing a DVC Golf Membership when we're there on May1....Do I still get to book @ 90 days out? I won't be purchasing the membership until I arrive at the golf club on May1 for my tee time.....

Mmmm..Thought that had changed to 90 days for every day of the year - checked the DVC website and it does indeed state 15 days for that time of year - However, the Master Starter told me it was 90 days and 90 days is also stated on the WDW website - I went ahead and made a tee time using "resort guest" status; will update this to "DVC" when I get to the clubhouse.

You should be fine at 90 days for a May date - I always purchase the membership at the clubhouse for my tee time - it's never a problem.

You can make DVC golf membership tee time reservations before you actually purchase the card, which you purchase at the pro shop when you show up for your first tee time. You can make tee times 90 days in advance all times of year except for during the prime late Jan to close to end of April time when you can reserve only 14 days in advance.

Note, the updated Members Benefit Guide (updated in September) that you can find on the member site is still showing the prime season as having only a 14 day reservation window.

Also before you actually go check on Disney's site to see what Disney is actually charging for golf. It has been offering special prices since May that end mid Jan which are themselves much less than they are usually this time of year. In fact, you can buy a 2 round pass for $140 right now and play two morning rounds (before 10) between now and mid-Jan when such rounds with the DVC discount would cost $79 per round or $158 for the two rounds and thus if you want pre-10 rounds it is actually cheaper not to do DVC and instead buy the 2-day pass. (Recessions can cause a lot of discounts.) Questionable whether they will have strong discounts in the prime season after mid-Jan but keep checking to see what they do since they have not yet announced confirmed prices for post mid-Jan.

DH will probably also be golfing around that time. One neat thing is that the DVC golf rates usually go down before May 1, while the regular rates, and the AP discounted rates go down a week or two later. We always go at that time, and DH always golfs-it seems I remember from last year that we booked tee times the 90 days ahead at the DVC rates, then DH buys his golf card on the day of his first round of golf.

And what perks do DVC members get at the golf clubs other than on greens fees?

The DVC discount, once you purchase the annual card, applies to green fees and cart for member and up to three guests with the member. The member can also get 20% off the cost of any golf lessons and, currently, free admission to the annual PGA tournment held there in November. Otherwise, there are no further benefits.
