I just did this last Friday night. For DD's 9th B-Day she wanted a sleepover-5 girls in total. We made chocolate covered marshmallows. Each girl put 3 marshmallows on a long lollipop stick (Wilton brand, you can get them at Joanne's ) I dipped them in melted chocolate (I put a glass mixing bowl on a saucepan-made my own double boiler) then the girl could leave them plain, or coat them in mini m&ms or sprinkles (you could do chocolate chips, lots of possibilities). I had a piece of wax paper with each girls name on it, they put their completed masterpiece on it to cool and then I labeled big ziploc baggies with their names and put them in the fridge when the chocolate hardened (which did take awhile- probably would have been faster in the fridge vs. the counter, but there was no room to spread them out). To save a little bit of $ I used the big hershey bars (they were 10 for $10 at the store).
They also had a pillow fight, watched movies, played video games, colored, did those bead things that require an iron, I taught them how to play Mancala, oh and they did a word search. If you go to
www.puzzlemaker.com you can make your own word search (sorry-its the teacher side of me here). I put in all the girls names and then a bunch of 'sleepover words' (slumberbag, pillow, games, etc.).
Hope this helps...if I wasn't specific enough on the marshmallows or you have a question, feel free to ask!
Have fun!!
PS~One thing I wasn't counting on though, they did stay up ALL night. I let all the parents know that I had tried to get them to sleep, but it didn't happen and apologized. All the mom's laughed and said guess someone will be napping today...
