I will be going to disney in 2 weeks
I will be 9 weeks pregnant with my third child
I was wondering what rides I should avoid
Thanks

They're all signposted with warnings :)

It's worth talking to your doctor though, as some women have been advised they CAN ride certain restricted rides. Anything which is even slightly wild you should probably miss if you're being cautious though.

HERE is a listing of rides that have Restrictions, both for Height and Safety.

Just got back and I am 20 weeks pregnant. Adhered to all of these except for Safari and Maelstrom. My doctor said Safari was fine and Maelstrom wasn't even on the list that I consulted...that's provided here on the Dis.

I went last year at 9 weeks pregnant. :)
I just avoided the roller coasters. Had a great time. :)

Definitely talk to your doctor. Everyone's doctor is different and there may be more things he/she does not want you doing. Hope you have fun! :)

At 9 weeks, I would say anything that causes G forces - so any roller coaster. I think that it is crazy that Safari is on the list. They don't even do the fast/chase the poacher scene at the end.

I was nine weeks pregnant during one of our trips, and I followed the ride restrictions posted by Disney. However, the one that I made an exception for was the safari. I sat in the first row both times so that it wouldn't be as bumpy, but really I don't even know if that was really even necessary. It's not overly jerky anyways! Have a great trip!

My understand is Safari is on the list because if the bumpy nature of it. I even believe some have been told to avoid rides like It's A Small World and Pirates because the boats bump at the end. Almost all the rides have the do not ride if you have xyz conditions sign which usually includes pregnancy just out of liability.

I went when I was about 7 weeks along with DD1. I skipped everything on the list except Safari & Maelstrom. (Actually, I've never seen M on the list before.)

We have a friend in management at AK and I asked her about the Safari when I did a trip pregnant. She said the risks are - the animals are unpredictable, they are actual vehicles that could get into accidents, and the "jeeps" have been known to get stuck out on the course for long periods of time. It's certainly not common to have an animal ram a Jeep, but it apparently has happened, and that would be incredibly jarring to a pregnant women. After speaking to my friend I opted not to go, but I was 22 weeks pregnant - at 9 weeks, your body may offer enough protection.

I'm 7 months pregnant and my doctor said I could ride whatever I wanted at Disney. I have avoided the roller coasters and Tower of Terror, but rode the Safaris (twice this morning).

Honestly, at 9 weeks, I probably would have ridden everything. A few years ago I was here and did not know I was 6 weeks pregnant with my daughter. I rode everything. She's mostly okay. ;-)

my mom was pregnant with me while at disney world and my sister was pregnant with two of her children while at dsiney world.

you really just need to avoid the obvious things like... space mountain, thunder mountain , splash mountain , mission: space, tower of terror, rock n roller coaster, star tours, expedition everest, dinosaur.....

basically the rides that jerk you around.

so most rides are fine.

This is the key.... being pregnant at 9 weeks is different than being pregnant at 22 weeks. At nine weeks I'd be more concerned with certain rides making you feel sick.

Just ask your doctor- show him the list of rides and see what he/she says. Every doc will have a different opinion. My OB is of the opinion that most rides pose no problems in most expectant mothers, especially that early.

I will be 14-15 weeks this trip. Just talked to my doctor (who LOVES Disney) and she okayed everything except for roller coasters and the tea cups.

Subbing.
Trip in November, thinking I may be pregnant. Was planning to start trying AFTER the trip.

Kind of stressing. All my detailed plans include rides I can't go on in that case. Sigh.

Thunder, Space, Splash.
Mine train, barn stormer.
Rockin, tower, movie.
Expedition, dinosaur, Rapids.

That's more than ten rides.
I don't really want to postpone the trip but now I'm thinking maybe I should?

Am I missing anything else?
Any suggestions for going pregnant when you can't ride any of the best rides?

CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!
Tell him the rides / restraints that are used and get his opinion.

I was personally told based on my history and health status that early on as long as you avoided rides that could hit your stomach all would be well.
Everyone is different though some people are higher risk.
Doctor will probably suggest avoiding anything with a lap bar in case of a sudden or abrupt stop.

I'm in the same boat with you, we are going to start try to conceive with our second... lord willing I could be about 4-8 weeks along.

Personally, I would never choose to go pregnant again. Especially in the summer. I actually lost 3 lbs while there which is not great since I had only gained 1 lb. up to my 20 weeks. So now at 20 weeks, I've got a negative weight gain. So much walking, sweating, and not eating (in the summer because it's just too hot).

I thought I would be fine, but watching my family going on all of our favorite rides without me...well, hormones....yes, there were tears. My only saving grace is that we go annually and I know we will be back in April and I'll be able to ride everything.

Just my two cents...
