The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has awarded its 2010 Xtreme Eating awards, meals (and one dessert) that have over 1000 calories and huge amounts of saturated fat, sodium, and sugar.

And here they are:

California Pizza Kitchen Tostada Pizza with Grilled Steak. The equivalent of a pepperoni pizza plus six beef tacos, this pie weighs in at 1,680 calories and 32 grams of saturated fat.

Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger. This burger alone is 920 calories and a day-and-a-half's allowance (30 grams) of saturated fat. Adding a large order of French fries adds 1,460 calories (three times the amount in large McDonald's fries).

P.F. Chang's Double Pan-Fried Noodles Combo. It's hard to know what's more impressive: the days' worth (1,820) of calories in this dish, or the five days' worth of salt.

The Cheesecake Factory Pasta Carbonara with Chicken. Bacon-y, buttery, creamy, and carb-y -- this pasta dish brings 2,500 calories and 85 grams of saturated fat to the table.

The Cheesecake Factory Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake. Six inches long, three-quarters of a pound, and over 1,600 calories, this "slice" of cake is the equivalent of eating fourteen Hostess Ho Hos.

Outback Steakhouse New Zealand Rack of Lamb. The lamb alone has 1,300 calories and 60 grams of saturated fat, but add the buttery sides (even the veggies) and you're up to 80 grams of saturated fat.

California Pizza Kitchen Pesto Cream Penne. Before you add any chicken or shrimp, this creamy version of an Italian classic has 1,350 calories, 49 grams of saturated fat and 1,920 mg of sodium.

Chevy's Crab & Shrimp Quesadilla. Technically an appetizer, this cheesy platter has 1,790 calories and 63 grams of saturated fat.

Bob Evans' Cinnamon Cream Stacked & Stuffed Hotcakes. Take pancakes, stuff them with cinnamon chips, spread cream cheese, top with cream sauce and whipped cream and you get a breakfast that brings in 1,380 calories and 34 grams of saturated fat. You could eat a hungry man's breakfast: two country-fried steaks and four eggs for about the same

Wow, something finally beat out the bloomin' onion and/or the loaded cheese fries with bacon and ranch dressing..... ;)

Everthing on that lis sounds simply delightful. I'm so hungry.

What if you skip the bacon (just cheese, ketchup, and grilled peppers/onions), and share the large fry with three members of your family! :upsidedow

Luckily, the only one of those places we have around here is Outback.

In Five Guy's defense, their fries are 10x the size of a Mickey D's fries. I can't imagine how anyone could eat an entire large order themselves... we always split a small and still have leftovers!

Oh, Deb, you're such a downer! ;)

j/k - I get the E-mails, from "Eat This, Not That!" They're great reminders!

I agree, we always share the fries. But they are soooo yummy!!

Oh good, I was so worried my beloved salt and pepper calamari from PF Changs would be on there - but not to worry!

DH will be pleased the Bloomin' Onion got knocked off the list! He LOVES that thing, it makes me feel ill just looking at it!

I actually have had the Bob Evan's pancakes. Once. I mean, I knew they weren't healthy when I ordered them, but I was horrified when I saw them on the list a few years ago! Oh well!

Glad to say I'm unaware of any of those restaurants anywhere remotely near our home and that I have never eaten at one of them.

We just had one of the Five Guys open here about 2 months ago. I got this exact meal (with the fries), except I had them add extra meat and bacon and every topping they had:scared1:

No wonder my blood thickened up for 2 days afterward , but it was yummy!:rolleyes1

Well at least half those places don't exist around here, and the other half are way too expensive for me to eat at.

It would be nice to at least see calorie counts on the menus. Some of these guilty pleasures, really aren't pleasurable at all.

I know, I know! I LOVE to eat as much as anyone, but even THESE items had me a bit nauseous . . .

CARL!!! OMG!

I'm stuffed just thinking about that!!

I do admit, these things sound pretty yummy, and I won't say I've never eaten anything unhealthy. But I think the key is moderation - eating this stuff every day will kill you!

No, the calamari is probably still on there. This is just a top list, it doesn't mean that anything not on this list is no longer bad. PF Changs is one of the absolute worst restaurants in America as far as health is concerned. Cheesecake Factory is up there, too.

Sorry, the Bloomin' Onion is still bad for you/him.

"Eat This, Not That" books FTW. :thumbsup2

The part about Five Guys fries is misleading, a large fry at Five Guys is HUGE, we order one for our family of four.
