9 days to 10 days to get POP??

I booked POP for a 9 night stay with 2 rooms. The only thing available was preferred rooms. I have called back 2 or 3 times to see if anything has opened up as of standards, nothing. The CMs tell me that it is only about $12.50 extra charge per room but that adds up to around $250.00 for the length of our stay. That is alot of souvenirs.

Well I just went on the website and nothing has opened up BUT if I put just one day earlier there is availability.

Question: Is it a big deal to add the day on the start of our vacation when I know that there is a good chance we would not be in on that day and I would need to drop it back off? Would they just drop the day or tell me that they do not have an opening for the 9-nights and I would be back to square one?

If you can handle another deposit, maybe you should keep what you've got already then book the second reservation online. Call in a few days and see if you can drop a day. If you can, have them cancel the first reservation. If you can't, have them cancel the second reservation. As long as any changes are done before the 45-day mark you shouldn't incur any penalties.

Sorry...just re-read your post and saw you had two rooms booked. I guess you'd have to do everything via phone. Maybe you could put the second reservation under a different name (spouse?).
