9 days til trip, and now ds is sick...

my 3 yr old woke up this morning with a fever.

i'm trying to keep him away from his brothers as much as possible, but i'm not sure if it will do any good. when someone here gets sick, we all end up with it before it's over.

any advice other than vitamins and quarantine?

Aww well i wanted to say that i hope the little guy is feeling better soon ,and i hope nobody else gets it.
As far as any advice, i'd just say make sure everyone washes their hands A LOT with hot water and soap, maybe drink out of paper cups and and make sure to not touch our face and nose as much as possible.
You could look into getting AIRBORNE JR, and seeing what the proper age is for that...it may help.

I hope your little one feels better soon! That seems to always happen to our family too, that someone gets sick right before or during vacation!! Let him rest and sleep as much as he can. My DS missed his first day of school today for the year. Woke up vomiting and 103 degree fever . He was more upset about ruining his perfect attendance than being sick!!!

Make sure everyone washes their hands (A LOT!!) and try to keep the others from playing with his toys (if possible). Separate towels in the bathroom for washing hands/faces for each person. I also wash everyones pillowcases each day confused3 don't know if it works, but it makes me feel better!) Lastly, make sure you have some of those clorox wipes and try to get all the door knobs, fridge handles, faucets etc.

The good news is the trip is 9 days away, so there may be time for it to pass thrugh everyone before you go!!!

The good news - you still have nine days! That's better than two days...which always seems to be my luck! Use lots of Purell...lather it on everyone and try to keep them apart. I have had success in keeping viruses from spreading household wide. Lots of handwashing when switching from your "patient" to your other household members. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Oh, and of course...lots of TLC for your little one!!

I feel your pain...8 days out and DD was up last night with a fever and found out she has croup today. The good thing is, the other three, Dad, and I have already had it pass through us! LOL I think with 9 days to spare and some handwashing you all will be fine! We will be there at the same time!!

Bummer, but don't despair you still have time even if others pick it up. I have had really good luck lately (knock on wood by keeping the sick one in their room, not letting anyone else in, keeping everyone out of the bathroom that sick kiddo is using and using a lot of hand washing and clorox wipes on surfaces. As my sisiter says, Bleach, Bleach, Bleach!

I'm going to buck the trend here and tell you to get everyone exposed now, which (as you have already pointed out) they probably already are. Most viral things will run their course in nine days. If you try to quarantine, you run the risk that you're just delaying the inevitable- which means that you or your other kids will be sick on the trip, and that's no good.
