The Hilton is a bit of a longer walk to the front gates of
Disneyland, if you consider a 15 minute walk long.
If it's a busier day at Disneyland, and they have the Timon parking lot open, you can walk over to the Timon parking lot from the Hilton in about 5 minutes, and then catch one of the parking lot trams at the Lion King Tram station to the front gates. When going back to your hotel, take a Timon parking shuttle back, and walk from there.
We've stayed at the Hilton before, and loved the views of the fireworks from our room. Spectacular! That was a couple of years ago in early November, and they had fireworks every night. Now for some reason, it seems the fireworks are only on the weekends, and it's even their 50th celebration year! I don't get it.
I can't comment on restaurants too much because when we stayed there we either ate at their restaurant on site, or Downtown Disney, or in the parks. The restaurant at the Hotel was okay, not terrific, but their room service food was GREAT! We ordered our then four year old boy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and my husband ordered a cheeseburger plater from the room service menu, and let me tell you, that peanut butter and jelly sandwich and cheeseburger plater looked and tasted like it was made for kings. YUM!
Hope you have a terrific time!
