This was an awesome update but I'm sad to read about your printing off the boarding passes. I don't want it to be over! We've all enjoyed it so very much.

It looked like it was a bit more crowded on that day than the others. Did it feel that way?

I just don't know if I have enough to talk about for a PTR for almost 4 months. Maybe when it gets a bit closer to me leaving. I'm sure I could find something to say. I never seem to be at a loss for words.

I don't blame you for wanting to go back to MK! The pics show just what a beautiful day it was! That sky - how blue can you get? And I don't think I could stay away from going to a park on my last day.

That is so awesome that your boys are now big Haunted Mansion fans. So now which attractions are ones that they are too young for or don't want to try? Maybe they'll be ready for those on your next trip.

I don't know a whole lot about computers or photography, but is it possible to photoshop the little girl out of the picture? It is such a great pic of you and DH, you should have it framed. And placed next to the one of you and Tigger!

It was a beautiful day! So sunny and warm.

I think now that DS10 has conquered his fears of TOT and HM, he will ride anything! DS8 has a ways to go. He still hasn't been on EE, RNRC, Space Mtn, etc. And he may never go on them, he's kind of like his dad that way, they are a little more laid back than DS10 and I!

Yeah, I suppose the right person could probably photoshop her out of the picture. That would not be me though!

Finally all caught up. Excellent report Shelly. We are all enjoying it.
Miss Emmy has been reading it with me, and saying with each picture of the boys.."there's our fountain friends again" haha

I've been reading along....just haven't had a chance to post lately. Too busy trying to finish up my own trip report and then I started a pre-trip report.

I hate that your vacation is coming to an end. It's always so sad. Any idea when you'll be going back?

Saturday November 14th Continued ~



When I left off we were at customer relations about to get our boarding passes printed. Something I forgot to mention earlier was that the night before when DS10 and I went to charge our camera batteries we soon realized that he had left his charger (with 2 batteries) plugged into the wall at POR. We called POR that night and they gave us the number for POR's lost and found, but they were closed at the time. They also told us that our POR room was already occupied by someone else. We hoped that they had turned it in. So while I went inside to get our boarding passes printed off, DH stayed outside with the kids and called POR's lost & found. I got a very nice CM and our boarding passes were printed in a snap! Two of our tickets were the very 2 last numbers in boarding group A and the other 2 were the first 2 in boarding group B. (We were flying home with SW) So after I got that all taken care of I went outside and DH was still on the phone with lost & found. This went on a little while longer, so the kids and I found this neat little spot and I took some pictures of them. As you can see this was 41 days before Christmas!

DH eventually got off the phone, with no luck. The charger/battery had not been turned in. He filed a lost report and they said they would send it to our house if it got turned in. He tried to explain to them that we were still in WDW, but just as another resort so they could just send it there if they found it that day. He said the CM didn't seem to understand that. But regardless, the report had been filed and we hoped that it would be sent to us. In the end, about a week after we got home they sent us a charger with no batteries. The charger wasn't even ours! I called and told them and they said that they hadn't found another one and to just keep this one!

After DH was done on the phone we headed back up Main Street towards Casey's Corner. This place is a must do for us every trip. Not for me, but for the rest of them! DH thinks they have the best hot dogs (is there such a thing? ) and the kids love the corn dog nuggets there. It was just about 11:00 and we had to wait for them to open. DH and the kids had just had a small breakfast in the room and I hadn't had anything to eat yet, so we were all hungry.

Pretty soon the doors opened and all the CM's came outside. They were all holding bags of Cracker Jacks (another reason my kids like to come here ). They made us "officially" open the place by all singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame. The kids thought this was great! We were the first ones waiting, but a pretty big crowd had formed around and behind us. After the song the CM's each started to hand out their bag of Cracker Jacks. DS10 got one right away. Then grown adults were actually reaching over us and shoving to get a bag of Cracker Jacks. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought the kids were going to get knocked down. We were behind the kids and there were arms going over us and in front of them. For Cracker Jacks. Wow, I was pretty disgusted. Just as they were just about all handed out a CM came from the back of the group of CM's and handed hers to DS8. Still a little shocked and annoyed we just stood there as they were then letting customers in. We finally went in and got in line. We got waited on right away.

DH got the Hot Dog meal and the kids both got Corn Dog Nuggets. I don't really care for hot dogs, although I have had them at Casey's before and they are decent, for a hot dog. But I never finish one and couldn't see paying for it and not eating it all. Remember we are now paying OOP since we no longer have the DDP. So I just got french fries and then got a lot of cheese sauce from the fixings bar to dip them in! The cheese sauce at Casey's is so good!

The boys were very happy with their lunch and we were all very full and ready to move on! Our total bill at Casey's was $23.


After lunch we split up. DS10 and I went to ride Splash Mtn. We try to do this right before we are leaving the park in case we get wet. DH and DS8 went to ride Buzzlightyear, but said the line was too long, not sure what that meant. Anything over 10 minutes is too long for DS! So they ended up riding the TTA instead.

The wait time for Splash was 15 minutes. DS10 and I got in line and then 2 men and a boy (maybe 12-13 yrs old) got in line behind us. I was trying to take pictures as the line moved. It was moving rather quickly in most spots. But the men behind us were very pushy and loud. Acting like if I stopped for 2 seconds to take a picture they were going to be very put out. And they kept talking very loud the entire time and saying how MK sucked and how there were really only 3 good rides there and with Space being closed there were really only 2 -- Splash and Big Thunder. And how they were just going to keep going back and forth and getting fastpasses at one and then the other over and over. I thought, yeah good luck with that, how many fastpasses do you think you are allowed to have at once? As you can tell I was having a very annoying morning! DS was even annoyed at the men behind us.

Thank goodness we weren't in that line for very long! We had a great ride on Splash and didn't get a drop of water on us going down the big drop, just like the last time. BUT after we rounded the curve after the drop there was a big spray of water and the last 2 rows got soaked. Guess where we were -- the last row. The people up front were completely dry. DS and I were drenched. I mean, dripping. My park bag and everything inside it was soaked. DS was like -- my underwear are wet! My shoes are soaked! I said -- and this is why we only ride this right before leaving the park. He informed me that he wasn't going to ride it ever again!

After that I dug out my wet phone and called DH. We met up with them in front of the castle. We decided that it was time to say good-bye to MK and head back to OKW. So we took the bus back to the resort and DS10 and I changed our wet clothes and we all got ready to head to DTD for one last time!

I like cracker jacks just as much as the next person but it's ridiculous for grown adults to behave like that. Maybe they were under the impression that cracker jacks in Disney have better prizes than the bags you get at home or something?

I do that too! And the CMs always accuse me of cheating. I just remember the one time I didn't, I got the big splash at the start of the ride going UP the hill (when other boats are going down), then was chilly throughout the rest of the ride. And of course I was wearing jeans, so it took FOREVER to dry out.

I have a bit of sad news - earlier this week I had to cancel a surprise trip I'd been planning for me and my little brother, who's turning 9 on Feb 1. We were going to stay at ASSports and have some great character meals (which neither of us have done). But I'm determined to take him later this year - maybe in October around Thanksgiving (that's right - I'm Canadian and proud of it!) to catch MNSSHP - I know he'd LOVE dressing up and trick or treating around the park.

Sorry to hear that you had to cancel a trip. I hope everything is ok. At least it was a surprise for your bro so he won't be disappointed! You'll get back and take him before you know it! My DD is going to be 9 in March and I know she'd be crushed if she knew about a trip and we canceled. Good luck with your new plans!
