9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Beautiful Pictures Shelly! :thumbsup2 Those lights look absolutely gorgeous! :) I truly hope that I will be able to see them in person some day! :goodvibes

Thanks Kim! :goodvibes I hope you will be able to see them one day too!

Okay, seriously- I know I can be impatient and bossy- (that's what happens when you're an only child- it's my parents' fault):goodvibes---- but really now, Shelly-- where are you? :confused3 I NEED me an update to get my day going.

You act like you have Christmas shopping to do or something.

YOU STILL HAVE 9 DAYS!
Priority, people!!!!!!:rotfl2:

:goodvibes

Jo

Well hello miss impatient and bossy!! :rotfl:

I was actually out grocery shopping. Big load getting all ready for all the Christmas entertaining we are going to be doing!

I'm afraid it will be afternoon before I get to my next update. Sorry, please forgive me!! :flower3:

I am so glad that they read that before starting the display. I hope they do it every night. The Osborne are such a nice family. They do lots of philanthrophic things here in Arkansas.

Here is a link to photos of there home/homes when the display was here in Arkansas:

http://www.jenningsosbornefamily.com/christmaslights/osborne.asp

I think I recognized the angels as well as several other things that were from the original display.

I just love  Shelly's photos and video! It is truly a sight to behold!

Thanks NewCrew! :goodvibes

Thanks for the link. I recognized several things. That is so neat!

Wow, the only bad thing about going to Disney is coming back and getting caught up on the reports!

DH and I were there from December 10 through December 14. I have a report started if you want to read along.

Sounds like you guys had a blast at DHS! I totally fell in love with it this trip, too.

Glad you are all caught up!

I guess I didn't realize before that you had a trip coming up!! I will definitely be over to your TR to read all about it! :thumbsup2

I love all the pictures Shelly - and that video was amazing!!!! It makes you feel like you're there. :cloud9:

I sure wish we could push back our trip 2 months so I could see it! :goodvibes

That's the 1st and only time you will EVER hear me say that! :rotfl2:

Wednesday November 11th ~

Today was a sleep in day. Had to rest up from all that Osborne Lights partying the night before!! Woke up to another beautiful, but windy day. We headed over to the POR pool around 10:00 and had planned on staying there for an hour or 2. But the water was just freezing. Even colder than the first time we were there a few days earlier. :confused3 Everyone was complaining about it. DH and I didn't hardly even get in the water the first time, but had told the kids we would go in today (thinking the water would be warmer this time). So as we were about to bite the bullet and get in to make the kids happy, they said they wanted to leave. They were freezing! We had been there all of 20 minutes. So we went back to the room and got showers and got ready for our day. As I was blow drying my hair (and DH was outside on his phone) apparently my phone rang. The kids were right there in the room playing with some of their new toys and never even heard it ring! :upsidedow When I turned off the hairdryer I heard my voice mail ring on my phone. Went and checked it and DISer Trixiequilts had called! She said she was waiting for me to call her again (remember- I had called her on Monday to tell her I found her keychain), but she couldn't wait any longer!

We all finished getting ready, DS8 had a jelly sandwich in the room, and we headed over to the POR food court for lunch (for the rest of us)! We had such a good meal there earlier in the week, so we were looking forward to it. We got there around 11:45 and it wasn't too busy. Since I had a salad the last time, and DH had a burger last time, we both wanted the Create Your Own Pasta. I had chicken in my pasta and he had shrimp in his. He liked his a lot. Mine on the other hand was not very good. The pasta was okay, but the chicken they put in it was terrible. It tasted like dark/rib meat. Gross!! The chicken I had in my salad earlier in the week was very good, so I'm not sure why this was so bad. We both got the cheesecake with strawberries and it was delicious. I was so glad I had that to eat, because I didn't eat much of my pasta. DS10 got the kids pizza meal (shocking, I know!!). And DS8 had already had a sandwich in the room, so he got a big cookie from the bakery!

Continued. . . .

After lunch we walked outside and the kids took a few pics of DH and I in front of the big water wheel.

Then we made our way to the bus stop and had a seat. I decided that would be a good time to call Trixiequilts back. She answered this time! :yay: We had a nice chat while we waited on the MK bus. I told her all about how things were going and how we were headed to MK for the rest of the day. The kids chatted and traded pins with a CM while we waited. The bus came in 17 minutes, I know this because I looked at the time when Trixie and I got done talking.

We took the bus to MK and went over to the monorail. We wanted to go see if the Gingerbread House at the GF happened to be done yet. I had my doubts, but wanted to check anyway!

Some pictures from the monorail platform ~

We hoped on the monorail and after a few stops we were at the GF!

Up Next: Would the GF Gingerbread House be done??? And lots of MK!

I just realized I missed the Osbourne Lights update - so went back and watched the video! That's amazing - I have never watched video of them before. It was even better when when I realized it was my PC that was muted for the sound - :lmao:
Thank you for sharing.

I am at home for the rest of the week , trying to organize for Christmas and get my trip planned. I feel more stressed this time, maybe because it is just me and DD going this time :confused3

Those lights got me in the Christmas spirit, and debating again with next trip, Christmas or Halloween :confused3

Glad you liked it! :)

Try not to get too stressed about the trip and the holidays. Everything will work itself out.

I vote for Christmas over Halloween! :thumbsup2

I also have to say it sure does look warm there- shorts and t-shirts, I can't remember the last time we wore shorts and t-shirts in disney :goodvibes

I am off to see if I can get some predictions for Jan yet !

It sure was warmer than January! We only had one day that was too cold for shorts. The rest of the days were right around 80! :goodvibes

I hope you get some great weather for your trip! :wizard:

The food court looks amazing! I would really like to stay there next time!

Glad you and Trixie finally got to talk! :rotfl:

You should definitely walk over there one night for dinner, they have lots more choices than the POFQ food court.

Yes, cheesecake saved the day. Wish I had some now!

More tomorrow. And I'll try to get to it bright & early for you! :rotfl:

I'd stay at the food court if I had that cheesecake to rest my weary head upon.

:rotfl:

Wow, Shelly, I love your pictures of the lights! :thumbsup2
Add me to the list of "REALLY want to go during the Christmas season someday!" :cloud9:

Wednesday November 11 Continued ~

We got off the monorail and headed into the GF. What a beautiful place. :cloud9: I immediately started to look for the Gingerbread House. And it wasn't too hard to find. You enter the GF on the second floor from the monorail and you could see the Gingerbread House over the balcony on the left side of the first floor of the lobby. And we could clearly see it wasn't done.:sad1: But we headed down anyway!

DisneyNovember2009587.jpg

DisneyNovember2009588.jpg

We get down there and notice this sign:

DisneyNovember2009591.jpg

Bummer, it will be done on the 16th, we will leave on the 15th. :sad2: So close!

We take a look at all the signs and read all about it.

DisneyNovember2009590.jpg

There were several CM's working hard on the house. There was one behind the table with a big tray of gingerbread pieces and he was passing them out! I was pretty sure I didn't like gingerbread, but they had chocolate on the back, and who am I to pass up chocolate?! :rotfl: So I took a piece. Nope, still don't really care for gingerbread cookies, but it was okay. DH and DS10 didn't really care for it either. DS8 on the other hand loved it!! Who knew? The kid that hates all food, liked something like this?

He went back for about 3 more pieces!!

We hung out for awhile and watched them work on the house. It was pretty neat to watch them put the pieces on the house.
