Anyone ever been on one of the "Illuminations Cruises" at Epcot? I just booked one sight unseen. I have no idea what I'm in for but the woman on the phone seemed pretty excited that there was one available for next week and said "You had BETTER book this!!"

.............so I did! :confused3

OMG! That is one of THE most amazing things I have EVER experianced at Epcot!! You will NOT regret it at all.

Have you seen the show at Epcot at all? If so the cruises are those pontoons full of people that have the front row seats to everything. No fighting the crowd for a good picture. Your right there in it all!!

Nope. I have NEVER seen Illuminations. I always want to but without fail, everytime, we miss it. So, good. I'm glad that this will be a great first experience for it! :wizard: Now I just have to tell the other 8 people in my party about what we're doing. :rotfl2:

All I have left to pack is my formal wear. If Buddy would get off his :moped: and quit shopping for underwear :teeth: , I could finish by 5:30 tonight.

:lmao:
Have a great trip to WDW! And we'll see you next Thursday!

Illuminations is the most crowded firework show that Disney puts on. People push and shove to get a good spot. With the boats, you have front row seats, with out the pushing. It's an experiance all by it's self! To me it's also the most amazing one. The firework show in MK is cool, but the one is Epcot is out of this world.

WOW! You are lucky! I've never done it but, I've read about it in the Passprter. :teeth:

I just read you sig line.... You were married in DISNEY????? Tell me about it? Where? Etc..... 15dd & I want 23dd to be married at the Grand Floridian. :teeth:

Steph, I have a few old Disney weddingmoon brochures that I can bring for you to look at if you want them. It doesn't have a pricing guide, but it will give you an idea as to what they offer. Disney has a whole department devoted just to weddings. There is a conflict with that department and TA's so many of us don't carry their information. But I have a few left over from last year.

Enchanted,

You are in for a treat! The Illuminations cruise is a blast...we went a few years ago...it was my birthday, so they decorated the boat with streamers and balloons. They served us snacks, cake and soda onboard. Lots of fun! :thumbsup2

Steph,

We attended a wedding at the Grand last year (actually the daughter of a couple we met on a Disney cruise!) It was gorgeous. My new next door neighbor is a wedding planner. She worked for Disney for years and helped to open Franks (the planning studio at the Grand!) Now she has her own company and does destination weddings, mostly in the Caribbean. I've actually seen her on the travel channel (before I knew her!) What a terrific job! Best wishes in planning your DD's wedding. What fun. :yay:

I did! We went on it 2.5 years ago for my birthday- and it was wonderful! It was decorated with ballons and ribbons, there was a cake and refreshments too!
We launched from the Boardwalk, toured the entire lake (over by MGM , Swan & Dolphin) until we parked under the bridge between France & the United Kingdom for Illuminations... Phenominal! Worth every last cent we paid for it, truly. These book up pretty fast, so you are VERY lucky there was one available- you'll absolutely LOVE it! :goodvibes

I would love to see the brochures! I have a good idea of price since I've seen the Travel Channel special. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It would be alot more fun if she would make a few decisions! LOL! We know they want it to be in Oct '07...... Her future MIL wants them to have a destination wedding.... Dh saw a resort in Costa Rica (he was there this Spring deep sea fishing) that specializes in destination weddings that he thought was really nice...
She hasn't decided where she wants to get married -- we went to a couple of Bridal shows last month...including one held at the CC that MIL/FIL belong. She can't decide if she wants casual or formal.... the only thing she has decided on so far is that her 15 sister is going to be her Maid of Honor :rotfl: :rotfl: She's picking the bridesmaid dress by what color/style looks good on her sister! LOL!

:lmao: Well, that is an awesome big sister! :thumbsup2
Wedding planning is just so much fun! :goodvibes

Thank you!!!
We've stayed at the GF twice this past year and we saw several brides getting their pics taken in the lobby -- on the staircase, etc... DH & 15dd saw one bride in the carriage!

I'll get them together for you tomorrow, when I go by the office. When I stayed at the GF last summer there was a bride getting her pictures taken. She should have been on Bridezilla! I swear she was as fowl mouthed and as commanding as an Navy General. popcorn:: I found a good seat in that big lobby and just watched!

It was BEAUTIFUL... Disney took care of everything and made everyone feel so special. The whole day was picture perfect.
I'm including a few pictures.

When we were at the GF in December there were 3 brides in the lobby taking pictures- between the piano, gingerbread house, tree, staircase- and there was a coach out front...
