I had bought Ally a Mickey Mouse raincoat marked down at Disney online, I have ponchos I keep for our treks to Disney World, as we usually go in July...and there are some nasty rains, lol... ;)

We,too, are trying to cut down on luggage. We bought bigger pieces for the boys so hopefully we will only take 5 suitcases and 2 garment bags. We will also have carry-ons for each of us.

Did you ever see the movie where the woman takes out all kinds of stuff out of her purse... she makes a costume for 2 kids with all kinds of scraps of things from her purse... George Clooney said to her "where can I get a bag like that?" ... I love it. :rotfl2:

I LOVE that movie and that purse. I am always trying to get a smaller purse and can't cause I have to have this, that and the other thing.
It started when the kids were little but even now that they are grown, they still come to me for the stuff in my purse! :p

Renee, was that last year with the Survivor shirts? I remember you having all kinds of problems.

Nope, that was this year when I ordered some shirts I had made for this cruise. Cafepress also wouldn't let me create and order any shirts with the Logo for this cruise with the ship in the Mickey head.

I know what you mean...
My husband carried my purse once and was suprised at how heavy it was...
I said well it wouldn't be so heavy if I didn't have to cart around YOUR wallet, YOUR sunglasses and YOUR car keys! :rotfl2:

Hi everyone,

I'm going to contact the hotel this week to try to arrange transportation for us from the ship to the hotel in Antigua, for those going to Pineapple Beach. We might be able to make a more economical arrangement than everyone hopping into taxis at the pier.

This is the list I have of those going to Pineapple Beach and the number in your party from the roster:

winnyis (4)

jiminyC_fan (2)

Piglett33 (3)

TiggerStac (3)

HookedonMagic (4)

DisneyGirlTinkerbell (3)

Did I miss anyone or need to change the number in your party?

I'll keep you posted on what they suggest.

The Disney Dudettes have 3 in their party. I like the idea of having transportation but I am afraid that we might :confused3 want to leave earlier or perhaps later than what the company might schedule. With that I am a little hesitant to participate. What do you think?

Can someone post or pm me the info about Pineapple Beach? There are 4 of us- just need to know the cost and how to go about reserving it, etc...

Hi all,

This will be our first Disney Cruise. How soon should we expect to receive our documents?
Last year we received the documents exactly two weeks before the cruise. This year you can do most of the documents on the web site of the DCL. This will save you time.

Time is getting shorter.  :rotfl:

Being from California where it never rains (just like the song)...

You forgot to write the rest of the song "Man, it POURS" ....We were at Disneyland for New Years and it rained the whole time except our last day :sad2:

One Fine Day ..... I love that movie and that scene. What I need is a Mary Poppins bag, so I can fit in all my stuff for our vacation :rotfl:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for the link again. When my computer was just in the shop, I lost my PC video. I am so happy to have it again. I was just going to post to see if you could provide it again. :grouphug:

I think my family has you all beat on the suitcases. My husband and I have two large hardside suitcases and my mom has 3 hard side is is going to Costco today to get a large softside. All that plus we each have our carry ons. We don't believe in packing light. Just like the large purses-we want to make sure we have everything!

It must be a California thing to love mexican food. Everyone I know who goes on vacation or moves says the thing they miss the most is the Mexican food. When we come back from vacation we always got out for mexican food. My husband can't stand to eat chicken anymore since when he was there the base in Taji was just getting set up. They didn't have all the fast food places like they have now. He ate chicken chili, chicken casserole, chicken sandwhiches, fried chicken anything you could possibly do with chicken every day. He even had chicken on Thanksgiving since they ran out of Turkey.

My SIL is from West Virginia and had NEVER had Mexican food until he got here at Camp Pendleton.. and he had NEVER had guacamole' until I cooked some home made carne asada burritos and he decided to brave the guacamole' and LOVED it! His father can't believe that his son loves avacados. And as far as my SIL is concerned, it isn't Mexican food unless there IS Guacamole'. :rotfl:

Aren't you limited to JUST 2 suitcases on airlines? Or are ya'll driving to Florida? Or do you pay for the extra suitcase and if so, please let me know how much it is because I HATE being limited to just 2 cases per person. I also like to bring my own "kitchen sink"... just in case. :lmao:

LOL you can take more than the 2 suitcases if you wish to pay. When my parents went to Alaska last year they both carried one of those trunks, plus 2 normal sized suitcases and then carry on each (it was a 14 day land-cruise) I told them they would be in trouble at the airport. But they wouldn't listen to me. I got them to the airport and to check in. It cost them an extra 200 dollars because they were over the weight limit on their luggage. So it was a 200 dollars going and a 200 dollars coming home. So watch your luggage weight folks!

Greetings !!!

Everyone has been very busy in the last few days haven't they?

Two weeks today and I drive to Gatwick (London) airport ready for the flight the following day, (we can check-in the day before with Virgin Atlantic) and one month today, the cruise begins. Things are really hotting-up :sunny:

As regards luggage, as we are on holiday for four weeks we are taking two cases each - a few will be for decoration only as they need to be empty for our return journey when they magically fill-up with lots of our purchases. I am so grateful to the weak US Dollar against the strong GB Pound. We have one case with our dinner suits and dresses for the cruise so we shouldn't need to open that one for a while. :yay:

Some good news for DS Alex, a friend who owns a cafe in town has offered him some work for the next 14 days at £20 ($40) for 4 1/2 hours a day so he wants to change his wages for dollars before we leave.

You've been talking currency for the islands over recent threads and as I mentioned we bought some Eastern Caribbean Dollars and Barbados Dollars (along with our Queen on them) a few weeks ago.

We are realising that even with all the planning and preparations to date there is so much still to think about. I have mentioned that before we cruise we are staying in Old Key West and my 40th birthday we plan to go to Le Celliar for dinner but I'm now thinking that DD6 - Bethan may not enjoy it. We are now starting to think afresh with any better ideas. Our planning for the days in the parks are being looked at again, our evenings are being looked again, our extra magic hours are being looked again etc etc. The only things cast in tablets of stone are our arrival, the cruise, and the departure. Helen hasn't put down the Passporter Guides for WDW and DCL as she's busy rearranging.

Anyway, it's getting late here in the UK and I want to be up early for work tomorrow (passed a fatal acident this morning) - the 24 mile journey takes nearly a hour in the car so I listen to alot of CDs.

Goodnight

You are allowed two suitcases each ticketed person. Each suitcase can weigh no more than 50 pounds each. The suitcases can be large but no
trunks which would be considered oversize. You are allowed to carryon one suitcase each ticketed person that will fit in an overhead bin. Also, a purse or laptop. These are the ruled for United Airlines. I get out my scale and weigh each suitcase to make sure they are not over fifty pounds. I hope this info is helpful to someone. :thumbsup2
